[tut] How to upgrade your CD drive

Not sure where to post this.



How to upgrade your CD/DVD Drive.

1) Go grab a screwdriver with a head that looks like " + " or " x ".
2) Get your pc, place it on a flat surface, and take a look at the back of it.
Take these screws out.

3) The cover should be loose now. Pull it out.
4) Now you should find yourself with a really confusing layout like this:

Look on your right side, near the top, for a metal enclosere. That should
be holding your CD/DVD Drive. You should see two screws, take them out.

5) Then unplug the HDD and Power cable. THe HDD is the fat one, usually black,
gray, or red. The Power one is always the skinny thing with 4 little wires
sticking to it.


6) Now push the whole drive out, from the inside.


Grats. You have successfully removed a CD/DVD drive! Now time to install your new one.

7) There should be a big empty slot in front of your computer.

Grab your new drive and stick it in there.

8) Plug in both the HDD and power cable.


9) Screw your new drive in.

10) Now place and screw back the cover to your pc.

11) Turn on your computer and install any necessary software.

You forgot to mention that the red line is pin #1.

 

great tut im not flameing on this just wasnt sure if you knew but u probaly do and also for the ppl that didnt know

is also known better as a philips head screw driver "+" = philips head "-" = flat head just felt like teachn some one somtn that they might not know great tut tho
