I agree, do you expect mayans to make a calander go to the end of the world? the person in charge of the calander was prolly like "2012... thats a long ass time, people prolly wont evn b alive then, so fuck it i aint doin anymore!!"

don't believe it because I don't think people can predict something like this it's just not easy for me to believe this crap. They probably want to do this so people can waste their money thinking it's the end.

I like to believe that the Doomsday is coming and I will be a lone survivor.
But what are the chances of that haha?

And more to the topic, I think the Mayans calculated the time of rotations around the sun, not the amount of days.

The whole thing is just silly. Not too long ago, some archaeologists discovered wall writings in Guatemala that show the Mayan culture's passion for time. But, they also show that the Mayan calendars go past 2012. So, a strong portion of this doomsday theory is invalid. And, for some of the other theories involving 2012:

    lol'd

funny how debates like this always steer to God.

the Mayans predicted loads of stuff that didn't come true.

scientists have did every test under the sun, and there isn't a logical explanation to why/how the world would end on the date.

Regardless of the dates failing to line up, we shouldnt trust mayan prophecy as fact (just look at their other failed predictions).

Alright, so I have seen quite a few posts of people saying this. Not saying this isn't correct, BUT, the Mayans started there calendar THOUSANDS of years before there civilization was even in existence. If your running out of room on your calendar, it would make more sense to take the couple thousand years that your civilization was not around out before stopping at some time in the future. Eventually, they would have run out of room regardless, just don't think this theory holds water since they did go thousands of years back.

Not a single Mayan alive today believes that the world is going to end on the day that the original Mayan calendar ends.

21-12-2012 is my birthday, not even kidding.
Anywho's, the Mayans were smart, but not smart enough to somehow find out that the world is gonna end on december 21st of 2012.
You should worry about the things that could really wipe us out, like nuclear warfare, Yellowstone or that one comet that's apparently gonna hit earth in 2031. Not some weird group of tribals that were too lazy to continue their silly calender.

I remember some other guy thousands or 100s of years ago predicted the world was going to end in 2012. He aslo predicted ww1 and 2. Saw it on the discovery channel. MUST BE TRUE.

If not an actual world-ending doomsday, one that ends the world as we know it is coming.
Not planetary doomsday, but our civilization is going to change really soon.
