Sythe banned me once

10/10 experience, would let him do it again.

There are hundreds of trolls against me. Normally I don't care. Its persistent character attacks and just bad behaviour I don't like.

In particular, this time around I was pretty offended when Punretard dug up my previous spam forum posts for a character attack: http://www.sythe.org/11935731-post11.html

Then to top it off he basically says "bye, I was just here to grief you": http://www.sythe.org/11935737-post53.html

He also repeatedly advised members to send pictures of their dicks to myself and other staff. (Which is also over the top.)

And the case with iJava, his attitude toward the site and myself was just terrible. I never got the impression that he had any esteem for the site or its staff whatever in anything he ever said. It was more the case of "you're all incompetent untrustworthy halfwits and you should treasure my existence."

My basic position is: if you really like the site and want it to succeed, then what are you doing behaving this way toward the staff?

I think this ends up being a situation of cynicism. There are people who criticize the government, and act like complete assholes because they are detached from it all. I'm sure that if you and punjabi knew eachother more on a personal level, he would not just jab attacks at you. Plus, there's also the whole "haha I'm so cool I'm trolling the owner of the site" level to it, where people think they will become respected and think they're funny/awesome if they do it. This just becomes worse, though, when you actually ban someone because their fake hurt turns into anger.

I'm not sure if you've experienced it before, but when you get banned the first thing you do is blame others. Then you go into rage mode and you're not yourself. When I was first banned, all I could think of was "wow, corrupt staff, I'm right and they're wrong, why should I even go back." Right now, punjabi is in that stage which is why he made that statement he did in his dispute. After a while, he will begin reflecting upon what he did, and a 2 week ban in perfect for this. So what I suggest you do if people begin attacking the website in a very serious case is a temporary ban, so everyone can just cool off from the situation. The issue is, though, that while a lot of people kiss ass to succeed on this website, many people go into "I don't give a fuck" mode which is what results in type of behavior. I would say from my experience, that this occurs a lot when users are demoted, or suddenly become more inactive than usual. Users that exhibit this behavior that I can name off the top of my head are Magic Arrow, Punjabi, BootyLove, and Floyd Zepplin. They will keep pushing the limits and call out the staff on every single little thing that they believe is to their disliking, and they're blow it out of proportion. Once they realize how retarded they are, they will mask it as a troll.
