In some cases though, what you may consider a personal attack is just an inside joke, or someone generally trolling. For example, while I understand I was an idiot about the R2Pleasent situation, I honestly meant no harm with the "IRS threat," but you took it as a personal attack. I was in a group of people I was comfortable with, and any time someone is in a group they do stupid shit, and we were speaking about how SuF was being like Finn. SuF was in the IRC, so, acting like Finn, I posted the IRS form as a "here finn, fill out this form" joke. We were in a Skype chat so it made sense. A similar situation happened earlier with iJava and that link. Syed was just being an idiot in a Skype chat because we were talking about who's getting moderator next, etc (we do this a lot and we act like we're the next person to get moderator, so we're like "big rich and I are buds, gonna get mod first, xD") which somehow led to Syed thinking it was a good idea to dare Java to post that link, and Java honestly did not know you would consider it as a personal attack. He didn't even look at the contents, and he got pretty upset over it, even though he had it coming.
Point is, while people may appear as if they hate the website, that may not be the case, and banning them will only hurt the community. Once in a while, even as the owner of the site, people will troll you, but that doesn't mean they personally hate you and want to destroy your website. It's kind of like when a kid falls down and everyone in class laughs. For a moment you may think they're laughing at you and making fun of you, but if you shrug it off and smile, then you're all laughing with each other.
tl;dr: I currently have a PhD is Psychology and Sociology.
