all im saying is theres no such thing as fate. If fate was real then no one has any control over there life. Right now, i have the power to end my life when ever i please, are you saying that fate will stop me so i can die when im suposed to? or would you say fate made me shoot myself? either way i still have the control. fate can only exist when people have absolutely no control over there lives.

 

Fate is real. Freedom of choice is an illusion. Your brain is composed of particles. Every particle has a set position and velocity. The outcome is fixed, therefore the future outcome of your brains is fixed, therefore, you do not have freedom of choice.

 

I think the word fate has different meanings.

I dont believe the future has already been written for us, that people are meant to die at curtian times. i know that if we fast forward life to the future, rewind it back, then go forward again it will be the same. its the same as watching a movie, its not going to change however many times you watch it.

Tho if you where to know the future, it would change your future. and would write you a new fate, not have some paranormal thing hunt you down so you follow your old fate.

 

I call it determinism.

If you were to know the future, that would be the way things were always going to happen. Everything is "scripted". Everything.

 

yes, i know that. you will be seing how it WAS always going to happen, before you knew what was going to happen.

 

Nope, knowing when I will die would stop me from enjoying my life.

 

If by Science/Religion rules whatever, Say you're 20 Years Old and you are told you will die at the age of 39. By being told that you are going to die it will change how you will possibly die, What im kind of saying is that If your told you will die when your 39 by getting into a car accident, the next day you could go to a random place and be killed by something else or you could even shoot yourself changing the prediction, Which is what SB pretty much said.

I'd like to yeah, the worst thing about death is if you don't get to say bye, i think.

 

You must consider intervention, as such another persons influence on , and anything else which can change the outcome.

 

Your mind is a product of your brain. Your brain is composed of particles, each with a defined position and velocity. Your brain's activity (and hence, your mind's) is set.

 

I suppose I wouldn't mind knowing when I was going to die if it turned out to be when I'm old and was peaceful. Then again it could turn out to be tommorow, and that would just freak me out. Of course this isn't possible, but his question wasn't "Is is possible to find out when you die?", it was "Would you like to know when you die?"

 

You cannot know when you will die. It is impossible, not just because theres nothing to tell you. If someone says you will die at 90, you can suicide yourself at any age in the time being. Therefor, knowing the date of your death would never be correct.

Edit: I have read what Shredderbeam said, but there is a flaw. Your brain is also affected from outside forces, such as the people who influence you. This can change what everything is set to, and can lead to the freedom of choice because of change.

i personally would, i would rather know if im going to live to like 90 or if im going to die at 22. just so i can get as much as done as possible in that time frame

 

No because, as stated earlier, i would not enjoy my life, but i would, like to know
how i will die.

 

Yeah, that would be pretty good, because then, you could stop it from happening

 

Unless you die of cancer or a brain tumor not too long from now.
