Why is Suicide illegal?

That's the most perverse thing I've ever heard.. Imagine the social impact. Honestly, human aren't cattle and they shouldn't be allowed to commit suicide on a whim, as many will change their mine within months or even weeks.

 

Because the police and medic crew etc dont want to run around the streets finding dead bodies everywhere. Get my point??

But theres people out there who have gone through mentally scaring situations, who eventually go insane and kill people. It's safer to just let them end their own lives

And the people who've been crippled or are really sick.
Some just don't want to live in todays world.

Some may change their mind, But im not saying it would be easy to get into either.

An in depth analysis of their situation. Friends and family notified even.

Do what we can to help. But some people really just don't want to live in todays world.

 

Future productivity is irrelevant. Should we forbid people from making stupid financial decisions, because it was possible to make more money down the road?

cause if it wasn't the insurance would have to pay for ever time some one who killed them selfs, which would not be good, thats why if you die from a drug(coke) the insurance corps would have to pay for all the medical bills, and give your family a lot of money, which would be outragus so cause it's breaking the law the corps don't have to pay for anything. this is a true story, my brother like 5 years ago, was going to go out with a chick for homecoming or something, her dad blew his brains out, 2 days before homecoming. it was really tragic

 

I think they made Illegal just because they think less people will attempt suicide. I don't get why they did that though. They can't put a dead Man/Woman in jail....

That means you are deranged and psycho. There is no reason at all in life where you should have the need to kill yourself unless you were fixing to be in horror torcher. A man should have no reason to end his life. No need to debate that shredder, you would have to be an idiot.

Even if your life IS fucked up you can still turn it around.

I used to be homeless at 13 years old and begging for money and never once thoght of suicide, now (I'm 17) and I live in my own condo and have pretty much everything I ever wanted. Get over it.

 

If suicide were legal, to qualify for insurance, you would probably need a psychiatric evaluation. Those who were at risk for suicide would have higher rates.

You are declaring, by fiat, that if you wish to commit suicide, you are psychotic. This is no way to have a logical debate. You must demonstrate conclusively that they are indeed psychotic.

The test of fire provides the toughest steel. Why not use your mettle to succeed yourself?

Ive thought about suicide many atime, and it was because i didnt wanan be remembered, and i fucking hated every aspect of myself. i didnt want ppl to remember me, for anything, not even as "the fyuckin emo kid who killed him self"

I myself, have already tryed about 3 times and all failed. I have to admit that my life was going really bad at that moment but with time, lots of things get better, as some of you have said. Now I have another vision of the world and I'm really HAPPY with everything. I personally agree with this law as everyone should be helped by someone, to possibly overcome the obstacles in they're life that took them to that certain point.

 

Truthfully is an intangible, invisible guideline such as a "law" really going to stop someone from killing themselves? Right before cutting their wrists will they say, "Gee Whillickers, I'm breaking a law right now ohagwd23wc!"

Just curious, does anyone know what the punishment for suicide is? Or is suicide illegal as just a means to deter it... they don't repossess your gravestone right? lol

It's illegal cause if the whole nation is commiting suicide it looks bad + it's wrong to take away life, be it your own or someone elses.

 

What are they going to do if you kill yourself? Kick over your gravestone?
