Why do you play video games?

I totally agree with your view.

 

to relax.

some people read books, watch tv/movies etc. i doubt they think omfg next year i probly wont remember any of these recipies from clarks cooking adventures.

i played (past) computer games instead.

i think the only problem is computer games (exspecially online multi-players) seem to be alot more addictive and time consuming than other forms of entertainment. i dont realy know why some games are so addictive over a long period. spose it's a combination of

- friends
- competition
- progressivness (cant finish)

 

Nothing else to do and its fun

 

Some people dont feel a sense of accomplishment in life so resort to online games like runescape etc to supliment this feeling. Some however just enjoy the game.

 

Playing games on Xbox live has always been fun for me. I'm able to physically talk to other people, including friends I know in real life.

 

Because it's what I enjoy when I don't have something to do. It's alot better than staring on your ceiling while on bed.

It's not bad aslong as we enjoy it, and it doesn't hurt us. Though too much gaming can be bad also as it can disturb your studies (if you're in school) and also your eyesight, eating habits, etc.

 

Some people might say "Why play video games when you're going to die anyway?"
Well, as I remember in the last episode of Rescue Me: Season 4, Lou gives a long speech about how most of our lives are made up of nothing. Maybe once or twice there is a moment when you are important. But most of the time is nothingless boredom. And if your fucking off and not paying attention, you might miss that one exciting moment. Ifyou imagine a baseball game, such a sport full of tradition and repetitiveness. (?) If you are dozing off at that baseball game and you hear the crack of the bat, but you were too lat3. You missed the one exciting part cuz you were sleeping. Life's just like that. Playing video games fits into boredom, but if you play too much, you may miss something very important.

I play games for the fact that for the split second that you log in until u log off your in a differen't reality. I believe we play because its a temporary escape route from our own reality

I am still playing games because of various reasons.
a] Nothing better to do.
b] I enjoy playing games, talking to people.
c] Puts another perspective in life.

 

I've got nothing better to do really.

I only play when I'm not curing cancer and saving life's.

 

I just play them because they are entertaining basically. It's something that kills bordam, its there if you want to speak with your friends, and if your a competitive gamer, you can always go to competitions and stuff which makes it more fun.

 

For fun, that's all.

 

You don't need to spend an entire childhood playing a game... There is such thing as casual gamers you know.
I played rs... I played it cause it was fun.
I never played WoW. WoW is shit. Utter steaming shit. (Then again, so is RS)

Amazing.
Incredible.

It just gives me a good feeling when it comes up with +50 on search and destroy.

Why do you play sport?

I play games, but not out of competition. I play them because they're fun. If I was in it for competition I wouldn't be spending tens to hundreds of hours on single games like Final Fantasy 7, 8, 10, and so on (over a period of months >_<).

To the people that know me, I am a usually preoccupied with fantasy - Anything that isn't "real" in say, a storyline, I take a liking to it. I read fantasy novels, I watch fantasy animations, I even read Japanese manga. Games aren't an exception. It's just how I am.

 

i think if anyone could truely answer that question, no-one would be here.

 

Like anyone else, we all have pastimes we enjoy and I like to play games. Don't know why, but it helps the long school week move along.
