Why Do We Hate?
“What makes hate tick? How can we stop it?” These are the questions that Jim Mohr, director of Gonzaga University’s Institute for Action Against Hate, asks himself every day as he develops a new field of study around hate. Mohr believes that despite all the devastating examples of hate in the world, no one really understands why one person hates another. The institute hopes to change that through the interdisciplinary study of hate, incorporating insights from history, psychology, religious studies, anthropology, and political science. Mohr cautions against simple explanations of the emotion and points out that fear, greed, and even the desire to belong can drive hate. That said, he is also optimistic: “We can change. There has to be hope.”

Why do we hate? I've been thinking about this for a while and have attempted to do some research but simply can't come up with a specific answer.

I have a pathetic but I guess logical answer.

SOMETIMES,when something happens we do not agree with or like,we become angry.

Once we become angry and the problem isn't solved,the anger will manifest into hate.

Why?Because we are humans.

Animals cannot hate,hate is a trait humans picked up long long ago.I believe from the story of Kane and Able.

And that is my explanation

Hate is something that occurs when you're in a state of a never-ending frustration. It helps with coping with the frustration of injustice, intolerance and the state of feeling powerless to help or to change what you disagree with.
