Who wants rares?!!?

I'd say make them a semi-rare = rare item that ANYONE can get, and make it untradable.

 

Partyhats were gained through seniority, not gained through combat level (clues), highscores or through a random crapshoot.

I can't think of any fair way to bring rares into the game. Giving them to top highscore players is going to result in a small group of players with a complete chokehold on a desired item.

Without bringing a ton into the game (which defeats the purpose of rares), it would unfair if it was random. Also you would have many ignorant players simply selling them away for what they think is a good price once they get one. Imagine seeing a noob in a partyhat in Draynor and how easily it would be to talk him into giving away the hat for 10% of its real value.

I can only think of using some sort of auction system to start out.

 

Make a level 4 clue scroll and have it be rares or junk. Then remove it after a while.

Drop items randomly across the servers. Easy as that.

I want rares back, and tradable. If there were no high priced expensive items, many people would have a set of all the most expensive items within a year or so... Causing them to quit since they had obtained all the high level gear

Duh the people want them back, but for the market etc it isn't the best choice.

 

I like their looks and everything, but I don't think they should be added to the game. I think bringing rares in would screw with the economy too much. Plus, there really wouldn't be a fair way to bring them in.

 

I just don't know what the rares effect on the economy would be. It could go similarly to the fish mask that was widely traded at high prices early on but it eased down to a cheaper price as people realized it did not have much value.

 

i think they should put them in level 3 treasure trails for 6 months; and be just as rare to get as a third age pl8 body.

I don't believe rares should be put into the game, it's one of those things that makes players forget about enjoying the game and all they see is $$$, having such an unnatural want for 1 item that doesn't give any real gain to your character defeats the purpose of the game IMO.

Edit: They could just have it so you can buy it from and NPC for 12gp or something and make it untradable

 

Jagex already allows trading EoC money for '07 money. What's problem with exporting rares from your EoC account, including tradables? It would have the same affect of someone selling a party hat, for example for '07GP, but, like I said, the rares would maintain their value of having to have been there for the event(untradables) or obtaining a party hat or red h'ween mask, etc. So a purple phat should be like 15M-20M '07, for example.

They should wait a while before implementing rares. Once they do it should be from a shop and they should be 1B each, with only 200 of each in stock forever.

 

200 of each? That's ridiculous, the people who end up buying them would probably be trillionaires in no time.

Rares should either be sold in shops (and restocked like any normal item) or not be implemented into the game.

I don't understand how people are supporting a few rares to be given out by luck. I don't put in hours into this game so that some lucky guy can make more in one loot/drop than I ever could.

 

I would like to see them only if they where rare and if the implemented them in a set amount so people couldn't whored 100s of them on the drop

 

If they did rares I vote non tradable i think rares are really pointless to be honest.

 

unless this rare item makes me food, wipe my ass for me, and satisfies my needs, lets get it. If not HELL no. More kids will act selfish, and the scamming rate will rise.
