What is wrong with me..

Alright, so I met this girl 4 months ago, and when I met her I was not the best of people.
I was really messed up, and was drowning myself in drugs an alcohol. When I met her for some reason, I began to straighten up. I was the happiest I had been in over a year. During these 4 months, we talked everyday, hungout every weekend, texted 24\7..
We were an unofficial thing up until a a month ago when I told her I wanted to be more than friends. She shut me down saying I never had feelings for you like that, we are just friends, and thats all we will ever be.
Though 2 months before, she claimed that she was in love with me, and she was afraid of commitment.
Now, we haven't said a word to eachother in weeks, and I can't seem to get over her.. I just want to move on and try and be happy, but I seem to be unable to get over her..
What the hell is wrong with me.. Why can't I get over her.. Why do I still get jealous over seeing her around other guys?

Are you feeling depressed from finding a reason to be happy and losing it? That's what it seems to be.. what are some things that make you happy? It's no secret but finding something else you like to do is a great way to feel better, hurt emotions get better. It takes time but a good pastime will get you there.

Well it sounds like you like her a lot, it's natural for a guy to get jealous when someone is with a girl he likes, you can always make friends with her again but at the same time befriending another person then slowly moving away fom her to your other friend/friends. To get over her you need time and something to occupy yourself.

 

This can be summed up with 'attachment'.

It's normal for most, and it's nothing to worry about.

Try to not let it phase you, the fact that you haven't spoken in 2 weeks is a real down side. Just do what you normally use to do, don't dwell on a small set back, you obviously enjoy being her friend, and because she knocked you back doesn't mean you should cease all communication.

 

The best thing you can do is extra activities to keep you more active and forget about her. Finding someone else always seems to do the trick for me, atleast for a while.

These feelings, prevent me from perusing other people. Whenever I make an attempt, I seem to always think about her.
I am however, keeping myself occupied with sports and staying around my closest friends. It doesn't seem to be helping me very much though.

 

I'd say the biggest part of getting over someone is the issue that you when you are in a relationship with someone or even being with them a lot like you said you grow to love them and get into a cycle of being used to being around them.

It won't take weeks for you to get over this girl if you truely have feelings for her, it will take long but I can assure you that things do eventually get better with time. Again, it's natural to feel jealousy, pretty much everyone does. You just need to focus your mind on other things like others have said.

If it makes you feel any better I know exactly how your feeling right now, me and my girlfriend of 9 months who I still love split up with each other at the weekend, right before one of the most important exams I'm sitting in university.

I've been there and really, the only thing you can do is wait. Sorry about hearing that though, I hope you will stay strong and not go back to your old ways. You will be happier just staying the way you are.

This kinda happened to my neighbor, he was seeing this girl for about 6 months then they confessed to each other, then it was akward and they stopped talkin to now. I suggest not doing what he did, date a girl just to make her jealous. I'd just say time is gonna heal things unless you really wanna date her go for it.

Well then I guess you're gonna have to do what I did, I swallowed my pride and was friends with my ex of 2 years and had to just be on the friend level. I mean it was very akward for me to see her with somone else.

 

Just the thought of her with other guy eats me inside.
