Wait, Tyro's not responsible for his MSN?

There's a scam report against his MSN where he scammed near 200$ and he's not banned? How is that fair at all to us who have to be responsible for our MSN? Either make it so we aren't responsible for our MSN or ban Tyro until he can pay it back, just like the rest of us.

edit: before this gets locked I'd like to say I have nothing against Tyro. He's a cool guy from what I know over Skype and he might even be playing WoW with us.

Yeah im not sure what to think about this because it was kind of posted everywhere that his msn was hacked so i dont think he should be responsible but then i see this in the dispute section

Listen, you are responsible for your MSN. If you want to be unbanned you'll need to pay back the banned user.

Honestly, this is why I get frustrated by our staff here. Mods can get away with this stuff until somebody else makes it public, where a normal user can easily be banned with hardly any proof or rejected until they pay people back.

I almost got scammed by "Tyro" aswell, Skele multi-spammed my screen just in time.

also, just because he is a mod does not mean the rules should be any different. (Sorry Tyro)
any trades performed after the announcements were done... yeah, you could have known but on the other hand they are not really popping up on your screen.

If he has to pay i just hope the damage is not that big.

It's only fair to ban him until he pays the guy back. I've seen countless appeals about peoples msn's being hacked, and their appeals being denied. Why should Tyro be any different?

I agree for the most part. This ties in with the "Special Treatment" SuF was talking about a while ago. Honestly, I don't think staff should be above the rules as it's only right if everyone is treated fair, even admins. Same as said by another user, I have nothing against Tyro, I just think that all users should be treated the same. I've seen too many people denied access to Sythe because they haven't paid back users; I don't think we should let this slide.

Well when I was accused of scamming when my MSN was hacked, a mod told me they would pay back if they had to. So I believe staff should get no special treatment.

My note that I was hacked was all over but if accused they woulda forced me to repay things.

A cop where I live left his police issue shotgun in his unlocked car and someone stole it. He got away with it, whereas a normal person would have been in serious trouble.

I take full accountability for any legitimate, substantiated scam reports.

The staff is currently looking into the authenticity of the report you listed; I promise it will not be overlooked.

Furthermore, to address your concern that it's possible that I could've just pretended to be hacked, it's very easy to find out whether someone is legitimately hacked; I had a handful of people run IP checks on the account to determine who had hacked me.

I don't think the hacker would open up an files, and that is my only knowledge to how you can get his IP off of MSN.

Regardless, how does that report look faked at all?

There is someone going around trying to hack sythe users msn's. This happened to my friend (jman) and we later found out that the guy sent RATS. In order for you to recieve RATS over msn you have to reply to a nudge, so im guessing tyro replied to a nudge. I have a feeling Skele knows this guy because this same kid thats doing it tried to hack the sythe forums (so i hear).

Edit: The best way to avoid those kind of RATS is to simply not reply to any nudges.

I have a strong feeling as to who it is, but it's not confirmed.

You can find someone's IP without accepting files and the report is being discussed (privately) by staff.

Staff aren't subject to special privileges when it comes to these sort of situations. It's clear that Tyro intends to take responsibility for the scam if the report is legitimate, but people need to understand there is definitely incentive for people to pretend to be scammed by a hacked user/staff member.

Also when it comes to finding IP's through MSN or by other means, I'm surprised that people think IP addresses are these impossible to find and super secret backdoors to people's computers.
