What vps could handle 10+ bots, more is preferred but I would like at least 10.. Which plan on photonvps could handle this and could a plan for seerhost handle it? I have tried the bronze plan for seerhost and got 2 bots running maybe could have gotten 3 but that would have been it.

 

I don't know if this is the VPS or the bot client but I have also been having problems with my bots today. I've been experiencing unusually low success rate ranging from 30% to 65% when I normally get 85% to 95%. Anyone else having this or know a fix?

Have you checked the load and usage of ram? Maybe the VPS is lagging.

10+ bots? No VPS, you'd need a dedicated server, with some nice CPU and like 8GB RAM.

Just get 2 Gold plans- you don't want to put all the bots in one VPS tbh

I believe all are paid, even if there is free ones there no good.


Your basically renting space from a super computer. Many members use that space to run bots, since good ones can run up to 8ish and usually running around 2 bots would make a normal users computer lag.

I wonder if you could speedhack with cheat engine to run more than just 8, because I can run 6-8 on a Pentium 4 w/ HT 4 ghz based computer with 4 GB of DDR2 RAM.

For some reason it just pisses me off to the point where I close VNCViewer and forget about it until the next day, lol.

Has anyone found a solution? Or even something to not make it close 15 times in a row?

Edit: At my new personal best, 9 closes in a row. YAY! Shitass VPS.

Edit2: At 10.. for those of you who want Photon.. it's a good VPS and all, but this isn't even worth it.

Seems like I'm bitching about it a lot, and I am, but it's ridiculous how many times I've watched it close.

Edit3: 11 closes. No way I'm ever using Photon again. I've been trying to get my runecrafter going for about 45 minutes now.

Last edit, I swear lol

After another client close, I have resorted to running the bot on my own computer. Pretty lame when I pay so much for a VPS. Ah well, I've requested a refund and if they won't give it to me I'll call my credit card company first thing in the morning and get my money back that way. No way these greedy pricks are keeping my money.

I usually kill my VCN via putty, get up and running again, re-install the bot, and then edit the xmx1000m settings lower in mouse pad. Seems to work for me.

For a week I've been running bots on many of my SH servers to monitor resource usages of different bots and I haven't had a single client crash...I've come back with the bots off but not the client exited. It's either a photon thing or our servers are that good =p

I lol'd ok sir your servers are that good, which is why I run 3 bots to your one on the same plans. I don't gain nothing from saying that except more bots for my money due to informed decisions. It's just a comparison me and another member made regarding resource usage and openvz overselling. I stay away from oversellers and nobody will admit they do, so I just had to compare plans to see for myself.

No no, it's not a photon problem I am having the same problems on my dedicated server. I am thinking it's runecrafterpro related as I suspected it was for berskerer helm (whom says he is going to fraud photon) and I asked him if it was and sure enough java related runecrafterpro problem. Mine keep crashing no matter where I put them, my other bots are running perfect on my dedi and my photon. Just the RC'ers for some odd reason, if anyone else is getting those crashes post their logs here and we can figure it out.
I'd like to get to the bottom of it as it hurts my goldfarming for these rc'ers to crash.

Another way to do it without having to restart your VPS is to force kill the program. To do this:

1. Open up your terminal
2. Type "ps ux"
3. Find the client id that you want to kill and type "kill -9 [client id]"

This way is effective for me because I load the clients in order and lets say the fourth one froze... I then look at the time and determine the one that has the fourth highest uptime. I then proceed to kill that client without it affecting my bots.

This method is a bit more advanced and I agree sometimes you can kill the wrong client, but most of the time I get the right one and it saves me headaches of having to reload all my clients up. Another words, if you have 8 clients opened, instead of restarting your entire VPS simply kill that one client that froze and you can keep the rest of the 7 going.

As Persia mentioned, its not directly a photon problem (the client closings.) I run 10 dedicated servers and have at some time experienced horrible client closings at some point also. Also, I have experienced client closings when botting both sorc garden and woodcutting. I don't think its just related to your runecrafting bot.. maybe that was just a coincidence.

It's good you mentioned that because my woodcutterpro's close just as often if not more than the runecrafter bots. Java related I suspect as my error logs state. I can't speak for sorc as I have stopped farming that method.

I only ever have the issue with Rcers, I can run sorc, agility, slayer and fighter bots perfectly fine. But RC clients just close..

Well apart from that you could get a computer for $500 that can easily hold 30 Bots.
I plan on getting one soon, And you can't even argue with the electricity, Because it only uses between $0.10-0.30 a DAY.

Convenience.

Also, some people simply cannot go out to purchase a computer at will.
I myself purchased a VPS costing $40 a month. It is self sufficient, the RSGP I bot and sell on it pays for the VPS itself, the membership costs and has a fair bit left over for me to splurge, and sell.

I'm using Xen Warp 1 from PhotonVPS (it costs 17$), and I'm running 1 sorceress garden bot 24/7, Soul Wars wouldn't run on it (I think).
