VOTE HERE -- New Logo and Background Design Competition

We should make a new contest in all seriousness. A logo that's going to last years shouldn't be the product of a stupid 2 week contest.


A month long would produce better entries, a better result, and much more professional logos and backgrounds to look at.

 

I agree, guidelines on how the files big the files would have to be would be appreciated on my side aswell.

I agree with this. Due to family issues, school, etc... I wasn't able to find the time to make a submission.

I do not like any of the submissions as compared to what we have now. I did however vote for 6.

 

I like 1 10 and 3, but
im gonn ahave to vote for #1 and i presume it was made by moonglare.

 

I agree with this if it's going to increase the amount of competetors as well as quality of submissions, especially as this will effect Sythe.org possibly for years to come.

 

It is obvious that it will be; more time, holidays will be over in a week, no school for those who study (plenty of time to make some nice work)

This definitely does not get my support. This is kind of looming around the same thing that happened to the skin design contest a couple months back. I was the only designer that actually took the time to design something for the contest and what happens? Absolutely nothing. I think that Sythe and it's staff should finally go through with one of their plans and stick to it. The fact that one person is dissatisfied with it because something is not to their liking is absolutely childish in my perspective. If this poll is discontinued or something of that sort happens I will completely lose faith in Sythe as it will be the second time I will be wasting a good portion of time. Part of being a good graphical artist is being able to whip up something pleasing at any given time. Sorry if this is coming off as harsh, but I just really felt the need to voice out my thoughts at this particular moment...

 

Only #4 looks good enough for sythe... everything else is lame

 

The logo should have to be something professional looking and not tacky as hell, and not to argue but I am with Jack and Dial on this one. Hopefully the admins will see the stink this all has created and will do something about it. I assumed the first one was made by someone with no graphic talent at all. It's just a shitty layer style. Moon's was decent, but again Alt did the most original and highest quality piece. It should never be a popularity contest with these things, but of course it is going to be. We are talking about the 'curb appeal' of sythe and if we have a logo that looks like it was made by someone who had opened PS for the first time that is the first thing people are going to see and they're going to be like 'Dafuq?'.

 

Def going with #6, looks nice and straight to the point. You don't have to spend 5 minutes trying to decipher what the text says. Good job to the artist on that entry.

 

Ateranz' is awesome. Simplistic and professional. Dislike over-the-top shiny logos. Also agree with Nero.

 

If the submissions had been done anonymously then I think we'd have a completely different voting outcome. Right now this seems like a popularity contest.

Why wait? It sounds like a waste of time to be honest.

Also can you confirm or deny this - If one person wins, will their logo + BG be the designs that are used?

I also believe strongly in splitting up the voting into 2 polls sooner rather than later as the current voting is unrepresentative of peoples' preferences. This is due to the fact that one person may like a background made by one person but then a logo made by another person but then he only has one vote. This vote would show that he likes the logo and BG of that one person he votes for, leaving the other person out. It's flawed.
