The thing is that a search on Google is more efficient than browsing the user ed was.

They don't need no rank to help others...

 

I used user ed. once in a while. But i only looked in the misc. section on stuff like how to make homeade bombs.. how to hack a coke machine ect.

 

I agree with you. People were saying "I LIKE TO HELP PEOPLE", no you don't. NO ONE wants to help anyone...It's just human nature. But yea, new users were using it as a way to gain trust..

 

oh well, there should be a poll in the staff forums about yakov's idea it seems reasonable..

 

Ive used it like 3 times its a bit pointless.

 

I suggest you make one forum for guides, with possibly some subforums. The forum could also be for help, so people don't ask their questions all over the forums.

In my opinion, writing guides to help the community is basically getting you closer to a staff position, or getting the respect of others. So if people write many guides, they shouldn't be recognized by a rank, but maybe something more. It would be interesting if you could set up a reputation system again.

Yes, don't do anything. You heard me correctly. Have you ever read any of the guides that were in there? Please don't tell me they actually requried work to do (except for a SELECT few guides) other than taking screenshots and labeling them...all of this crap could have been found on google, and people did NOT deserve a rank for labeling pictures and posting them. -_-

 

It was a good idea to remove it, guides don't really need one whole section since people can just post a few guides in General every now and then.

 

im gonna miss it. I've read some very funny things in that section. Like Curts guide to jacking-off LMAO. that was so funny.

Probably because it didn't receive enough activity to be its own section.

It did recieve enough activity,
I think its mainly because people did it just to get a rank
Also, i think a few of the guides were getting ripped and a bit not allowed and stuff...
Not sure though

 

But it's a lot more organized, and it's easier for people to find and read specific guides in its own section.
