Still a mistake. If deacon stayed HUE it would probably last longer. He had some nice ideas.

 

They weren't supposed to make guides just for the rank, that wasn't the point. If they made them just to get the rank, then they didn't deserve it.

 

I think this was a VERY good idea... People just kept posting 5 crappy guides to get the title, not to actually try and educate people. The title was just something to make spammers look trusted.

 

There weren't very many useful guides in there anyhow...


I also agree with TDD about what to do with them.

 

LMAOOOOOOO yesterday, I finished writing my fifth guide and was about to post them to get a rank.... OOOO hahahahahhaha.

Anyway, I think it should be brought back just to get deacon back...

Also, the user education shit was just plain stupid.
I thought the only reason people would try to get it was the fact that, people will probably trust and respect you more just because you 3 flashy books under your name with the words "User Educator" above them.

 

We don't have to explain why someone is banned, it's not up to the community to discuss. In this case, I see no reason why I shouldn't tell you though: he requested to be banned.

I wouldn't say that. Some people were dedicated to educating the community. But I did think that the majority of them were just rank-hungry.

 

Well, I didn't, "Order you" to give me an explination.

But I get kinda tired of the bullshit, when a friend of mine was banned for spamming, and no one bothered to even take a look at my report for him. It just seems sometimes, that I never get to understand why some people who are innocent just get banned with no explination.


And was Deacon so whiney about this, that there was no point for him to be in the community anymore?
Or maybe was it because something less dramatic than that.

And I admit, most of the educators didn't write guides that were absolute crap/worthless.
There are guides that are helpful.
But like you and I said, it was just for the rank.

or even a master post stickied in something for all,

Perhaps add a thread that links to another site. Mebbe if your hosting includes website in conjunction with phpbb or vBulletin you could just add that?

 

Thank god, no more of those "LOL YOU GUYS SHOULD RESPECT UES MORE EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T DO ANYTHING" topics...only useful guides in that board were in the programming section, everything else was pretty much common sense/stuff you could find on google.

yeah I never really looked in the user edu. section, I think its pathetic when I see a person thats only been here one month or something and has 150 posts (posts doesn't matter, but they show your active) with a user ed rank, most likely trying to get it to fool leechers into thinking their trusted and scamming them :|
