Unregistered users and the marketplace

My old thread got locked. And I see why. However, I got a new idea regarding it. (Old thread: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1020341)

So, instead of disabling the marketplace for unregistered users, change it so unregistered users can't see MSN/email addresses without registering. That wouldn't make any harm in my eyes. And it would decrease the amount of imposters.

 

I support your concept as there are people who just come on here and use the legitimacy of others to there advantage when they are imposter's. Also, this will stop people from just adding each other without actually being a Sythe member.

 

I also vouch for this, im so tired of people trying to scam me..

 

I actually have ran into this several times. I've actually had a couple people register after completing a trade with me.

Yup, that is possible. However, that is kinda rare compared to the amount of imposters. I've noticed that if you put your MSN somewhere you have 10 imposters adding you. Obviously that is not a problem to everyone, but for new users, it is.

Back on topic though, I support / don't support. I support because it'll stop scamming, but isn't that what a verification PM is for?

Well see, the problem is, they just make a new account, and just view the links. Oh, they got banned. They make a new account, and keep it up.

I think it's good becaause I have jhad people randomly add my msn and just start talking blah blah blah... and then say oh I dont have sythe but im super trusted on so and so website...

 

Yup. But this is mainly for the new users, they don't know what that is and they go first to imposters.

 

How long does it take to make an account?

I think this is pointless, if some one is looking to scam there going to find away. Making it so only people who have accounts wont stop this.

I think not letting unregistered users browse forums at all would be better.. I'm sick of being scammed by imposters. and sick of hearing of others being scammed by imposters.
