Time Machine. Will it ever come?

You have seen it in the TV and the cinema. You have read it in books.
But what about real life?
Do you think that the time machine will ever be made?
Why? Why not?



- Personally, I don't think it will EVER come. I mean it is not like there is a resource that you can use to make stuff like that or anything. For me, it's too much science fiction. Also, I think it would ruin many things if you were able to travel looooong time back. It would change the whole world. I don't think or neither hope that it's coming here in the real life.

Time has no continuity. There is actually a VERY small amount of time between every action that takes place. This is called "Planck's Time". Extremely small number.

I remember reading an experiment a while ago when some clocks were taken around the world in a fast aircraft. The results were interesting, but I can't remember them. Perhaps that would contribute to this thread if I can find it.

I just think it;s impossible to make, it's too science fiction for me to believe. Although would be great to have, but if one was made (not likely..) i think it would change the world has we know it.

Think about it... do you think people in the 1500's thought "a magical box where people can come together and talk, play games, write letters" (of course im talking about the computer) or even a magical box where pictures appear (tv).

It will happen in my mind... think about the speed of light... if we could go that fast... woudnt that be a form of time travel (based on the theory of relativity) we could travel at the speed of light for one year, then come back to the earth... and maybe be 500 years in the future..

Maybe we wont go BACK in time... but maybe we can manage to go to the future by travelling at very high speeds?

Except that nothing we currently know can travel at the speed of light other than light itself.

Other than that, we would disintegrate before we came close to it.

It will be invented, but will not be aloud for the public. The reason the public will not be able to have it is because you could just go back in time, kill someone, then come back in this time and not get caught.

I think if we dont kill, burn, or blow up the planet by the time we have the technology then yes maybe one day it may come. but definitely not available to the public for obvious reasons.

You don't get it...technology is not the same as time travel. It doesn't matter how many computer chips you have you can't alter time itself.

Yeh I heard it's technically impossible to travel anywhere other than the future, so we wouldn't see any people come here from the future if they DID invent it.
