"As a worker, you may not provide services for more than one active service thread; this means you may not bump your own thread while working for another service thread."

I disagree with this new rule for the following reasons:

- It used to be allowed FOR YEARS to provide infernal cape services for multiple service discords/sites/servers as long as the cape provider (who capes under their own thread) did not set up or sell the customer and was subcontracted the order.

- IF applied this rule should be applied equally to ALL runescape services if enforced since it's a double standard and inconvenience only for the infernal cape community as of now.

- If this is to be equitably enforced, how would you catch people violating the rules? What would stop a server from sending a new "caper" every day for orders who can reply to the tickets themselves and cape for as many servers as they want since they don't have a thread.

-Since the majority of service discords have infernal cape threads, infernal capers are forced to choose if they can sell their own service or are tied down to 1 server exclusively. This severely limits their earning potential and from my personal experience no single server no matter the size can supply enough capes to occupy the time capers have available to fill orders.

-This rule lowers the overall quality of service since service discords and cape providers would need to part ways bringing in a wave of new unvetted providers to fill a vacuum of orders.

I've been providing infernal cape services for dozens of sites/servers over the past 4 years and have actively spoken to sythe admins to make sure I am within the rules up to this point. I strongly believe this is a poorly implemented new rule and have a suggestion to improve the current climate of the infernal cape threads.

There should be no limit to the number of threads an infernal caper can provide services for as long as they are not using their name/brand/thread to secure the sale. it should be allowed under the condition that the infernal cape provider isn't involved in the sale of the cape AT ALL, no replying to tickets, answering faq, no gear questions etc, only the fulfillment of the paid order. Ticket support, owners, or live chat workers should have to set up and sell the orders and then be able to subcontract the order to a reputable caper of their choice if t.o.s. permits it.

I agree. Skilling workers are no different. They are allowed to provide services for multiple discord servers with no problems. The same goes for gold. Everyone on sythe buys and sells gold to other sythe members with active gold selling threads. It’s the same concept, different product. This rule shouldn’t be applied to infernal capers and is a huge inconvenience to almost every single services server out there. If you look at all of the top service providers, almost all of us subcontract to a handful of the same capers.

Fully agreed. What’s to stop said infernal capers from just creating discord alts to use inside said servers. Makes zero sense and new rule is even harder to enforce.

Waste of staffs time. Especially seeing as they must be quite busy given the length scam reports and Report a Violations have been sitting unanswered in recent times.

Why is @Aloe still banned? Aloe Market manipulation ban dispute when everyone else isn't? double standards. (I know of one or 2 people who were bumping there thread at same time as there worker but I am not a snitch)

Definetly have a lot of respect to the mods/admins & don’t mean this negatively towards any user at all but I think this thread is spot on & this certainly needs to be revisited.

I was a bit confused as it seems the views towards the infernal section isn’t keeping in mind that there’s a limited pool compared to the trainers/questers/etc (who may also work for more than one servers) who do not have the skill set for infernal. I’d guess if you go into the list of workers in servers and see duplicate names that action should be taken on these servers? What if these workers have TOS they agreed to? What if there is a hold on their deposit for x amount of weeks? (We’ve all seen it don’t say this is silly)

Of course there’s going to be scenarios in which at least one caper may need to be utilized for another as that’s the limited pool surrounding infernals. This is just promoting users to use alts & have mods to baby sit and/or more violation threads coming out.

On top of this limited pool there’s only so many limited people who won’t run off at the first sight of GP, which really makes it even harder for a provider to find someone they truly can trust and not babysit them even with a deposit (which we would be responsible in the event even one bad scenario occurs and possibly put our brand/business at risk). As a provider I’m not selling a service due to a specific caper being in the mix. I’m selling the service due to me building my brand/server/trust, advertising my threads & continuously making sure they are exposed to more people every 4 hours, & so forth. Hell it’s even hurt me for a caper being busy with other things & other providers to the point I’ve lost business, but I don’t mind as I have the peace of mind with someone I trust & the community trusts.

I’d like to see a more thought out approach on this or at least show consistency across all workers for all aspects of services.

In another scenario below I am needing feedback;

As it stands right now I may have a caper lined up that doesn’t have a sythe account but appears to be working for other servers (who these servers may or may not be on Sythe, I’m not entirely sure) - it appears this would be allowed, correct?

Just to (hopefully) clarify, if the caper doesn't have direct communication with customers and the service provider outsources to them, the caper may still have an active thread. The solution you've presented is adequate and would likely be considered outsourced rather than a worker.

If multiple services have threads and they share the same worker then their threads would be locked until that worker is only working in one.

I know there are people mentioning service providers, @ChellBell included so just wanted to give my two cents as it's mainly her comments that stood out while half awake

-

In the stance of service providers, yes we hire people who work for other providers as well, and that's not quite the same as inferno cape services. If we was to instead look at people like shown here LightGP and Aloe market manipulation they do run their own threads as well and that itself is market manipulation

If you are however NOT DOING THAT and are instead simply just working for multiple servers to cover more funds/work that itself isn't manipulation of the market and cannot really be punished for. The problem you're facing is, these inferno capers you're mentioning a lot of the time DO have threads meaning that is manipulation it's a bit different.

No targeting chell specifically, but just because when I opened it's the only comment that actually came up right away lol

Exactly, thank you for this.

The entire point of this now, is that capers can’t work for multiple service providers anymore. Even if they don’t have their own active threads they can either work for themselves or 1 provider.

From what I understand, they can still work under people (that's how services work themselves, would make no sense otherwise, and the forum would generally die all together) but cannot bump their own threads etc

I don't see the issue with someone having their own thread, offering a service, while also getting sub work through another provider so long as they do not bump the other providers thread, i don't see how this is a issue.

edit- to preface i mean, if they have their own service discord etc, and arn't linking to the discord they do sub work for.

This is pretty much the apsect of this thread. I wouldn't view the Aloe scenario in this situation as they were both bumping their threads while performing work, however the start of this was Silveris who does not bump a thread but works for 'x' amount of providers. That is not allowed now & what led to the thread being made.

And in the end they have to set an example of something so that people know not to continue, not quite sure what the difference was between them and the same with the LightGP report I linked that he ultimately scammed on as well.

It does seem the rules could be more sharpened with better more clear information.

That's pretty crazy you know, what the fuck lol

I know with worker things they cant own their own threads etc, because we had the same issue with gold (as you mentioned gold) when @Pain the cockroach was around and some of us worked for him and co. We had to sell our stock under the market value at their buy rate because we couldn't sell it otherwise in case "it was stolen GP lel"

I support Seth's comment. Poor implemented rule imo.

We're open to more capers sure. However I definitely see it going south with scams. We have a few reputable capers here on Sythe, which a majority of us depend upon.

Second: This rule has been here without problems imo. The thing is infernal caper isn't the usual worker. They're region limited and it can incredibly hard to find GOOD capers and it requires alot of skill and Infernal/parsec experience.

I think this also opens up to capers just making discord alts being capers then and going on from there.
