Thoughts on Coronavirus?

I find this very hypocritical. 25,000 people pass away from hunger everyday but as soon as this (Non-Fatal to most people) Virus comes close to them all off a sudden it's a huge thing. Sure Goverments should take some measures but shutting down the whole economy like this is overreacting in my opinion.

10% mortality and highly contagious it can wipe out half earth if left untreated lol

I'd like to know where u get the fact of 10% mortality rate cause i'm pretty sure it's closer to 3%. Also all people who are passing away from this are very old people and people with underlying health conditions. Some people even carry the virus without noticing any symptoms. Also i'm sure the fear is not that it will wipe out half the earth (cause it won't). The measures being taken are so hospitals and people in healthcare are not being overloaded by work so that they have to choose between people who live and die (happening in italy now). Like i said this is an issue that definitely doesn't need to go lightly. however doing at cost of the whole economy is going overboard in my opinion.

Also follow as people that have knowledge telling you e.g WHO if it wasn't serious they wouldn't be taking such a measurements.

Spoken like a true individual who hasn’t been affected. How do you propose the government should deal with this otherwise? Just letting the virus go and spent the money on people in hunger instead?

I'd say keep emphasizing that people should keep a respectable distance from one another and try to work as much from home as possible. Make sure u have good hygiene etc etc. The people who live struggling with hunger are just as important as any other human life. There is lots of ways u can warn people and limit the spreading of the corona virus without shutting down the whole economy. Again this is my opinion no need to agree .

I sucks because in low eco or developing countries, people are losing income that are merely keeping them stable.

 

It's not an old person's disease, it is not the flu and it is not something people are unnecessary panicking about.

It hits hard and if it overwhelms your hospital system it can really take out a big percentage of your population.

In the UK I know a lot of the population isn't taking coronavirus seriously and have ignored/misunderstood what Boris Johnson meant about social distancing, and subsequently the UK has gone on lockdown for any social gatherings.

Personally I do think I am underestimating what the coronavirus can do as I am not taking many precautions myself, but then again I am at home 80% of my life anyway.
They closed McDonalds too, because of that I bought an actual box of the BBQ dip from a local store lmao x336 BBQ dips.
