Can I get some tips/comments on my application? I think it needs improvements, but I'm not sure what to improve.

A couple CS members (including me) have already given advice and suggestions to improving your application. Your guide on how to create an Hushmail account is relatively basic as anyone can sign up for a free email account; maybe make another guide on something a bit more advanced?

Does start date play a factor in wanting to become a community assistant, I would geuss that obviously activity would be one.

 

Activity is obviously a factor, but join date does not play a factor in voting. Just because you joined late does not make you any less helpful.

My first guide, Not what usally gets posted here, but the information is useful, would like some feedback.

 

So, I do not know how often this thread is checked. However I am slowly but surely considering applying for Community Assistant. I am trying to compose some quotes for when I do decide to start applying. I have a lot of very good comments and help that I provided in Runescape forums and these community forums. Will I looked down on in my application if I have more Runescape related help, regardless of how helpful and elaborate it may be?

Also how many quotes would you recommend I include.

If anyone is willing I have a bunch of quotes I have compiled already. If someone would help I would want to private message them to someone and tell me if I should add/remove/keep the same.

 

I would recommend posting your "top 5" just so the whole page isn't taken up with quotes.

Really the best advice I can give you relating to quotes is the regularity in which you help others. It looks horrible on an application where all of your quotes are from the same day, and then from that day on you stop helping. Keep posting the way you do (helping others) and you're good to go.

 

Quotes can be tiring and boring to read. Anybody can write 5 lengthy quotes for an application and it isn't unique. The thing which I think people should do is quote what people said about your guide and put that in. Those qotes prove to us that your guide was helpful/useful.

I don't even read the quotes people write (unless it's for a guide). They're all fake and made just for their application.

How many quotes would you suggest I make altogether than? I feel like I have a lot of different quotes and a few threads that have been very helpful. When I make my guide I will include quotes about that like you said, however I want it to be known not only my guide (when I make it) was helpful but I am helpful all around. Also my quotes were not just made for the purpose of an application. You can see by the dates.

Okay, thanks for the advice. The good things about the quotes I have compiled is that they are all different times. I post to help others not really thinking if it would be good for a CA application in the future.

I found a few quotes of mine very quickly, could you guys recommend which I chose to keep. A lot need to be cut out. Also should I keep the 2 threads? I feel like good points and suggestions were made there as well.

As FlyingToast mentioned only include your top quotes. Avoid quotes like "Thanks for the help scottayy" as they will all just be repetitive. I see lots of people putting a lot of their acknowledgements in their applications but in my opinion it doesn't matter; someone either thanks you for your advice or doesn't.. either way we will determine if your quoted advice was helpful.

It may hurt you a bit that the majority of your advice is runescape related since we don't allow runescape related guides among applications. Do you have any knowledge in other areas other runescape? Your posts are good.. if you can demonstrate that outside of runescape you shouldn't have a problem.

Btw in your quoted advice try to be diverse; don't have all runescape related advice.

 

I have a few ideas for non-runescape related guides. I will also try to remove most of my Runescape quotes. I'm going to look for some quotes of mine from other areas when I get back from school today.

Would you guys suggest a maximum of 5 quotes or so? Or less?
