The case against the PS3

lolz? what did i do wronG i was just saying that ps3 is really not nessecary and that if i wanted something that can play and inchancce god quality i woul go to my philips blue ray dvd player....

 

You said everyone has a blue ray player, thus not true. Ps3 is cheaper than a blue ray player and is also a gaming system. Tis a win win

And I haven't played those games. So I certainly can't know whether they suck or they're the best ever made.

Wrong. Some people find immersion into realistic graphics to be more entertaining.

And if high level graphics was in the scope of the game's project goal...? Certainly not easy to cut down the work already started.
But it's really a lame point anyways. You can't have too much space (although it may decrease the motivation for optimization), and it leaves a cushion for flexibility for game devs.

I just think the ps3 is premature. The gaming industry isn't yet set on making games to the caliber of the ps3 system, so you'll just get a lot of crappy multi-platform games that don't utilize anything the ps3 offers. And blu-ray had yet to become remotely popular... and I'm not sure it ever will.

And most of these "exclusive" games xbox has are on (or are going to be on) the PC. So w/e...

And muffin, i'm sorry but unknown and cruel seriously owned you. But honestly i can't make an opinion because i have neither console, i have a ps2 But if i had the choice i would get the ps3, and the only thing to make me hesitate is halo, but there's more shooting games than that.

Dude I own a PS3 and I love that thing, my friend has a 360 and I would rather have my PS3 over his 360 and the 360 only games like halo guess what if ya want it that bad get it for pc

 

tbh honest i own neither but 1 thing well all know is if you want console specific games look no further than nintendo

 

yeah takeing that route would be the smartest one here couse there are some great minds here waiting to thrash you, your lucky no one felt like gooing into detail and bringing in outside websites....oh wait, maybe i will.

Not movies, a game you idiot. More data you can fit on a cd means bigger better, longer and funner games. The more data you can fit on a cd the better the game will be, aslong as the game designers are good at what they do. If any ps3 game is bad, its the designers fault, not ps3'z. On any game system theres hundreds of bad games, take Xbox for example... It didn't really get well known untill Halo came out.

The ps3 console is awesome. It's the games that let it down, if a designer made a game better than halo for ps3 then everyone would be wanting a ps3. It's the designers fault, not ps3'z.

More data=Funner? That doesn't make any sense. That's like saying books with smaller font sizes have better plots.

Your point about designers is absolutely true: There aren't any good PS3 games because designers aren't making any, not some inherent problem with the console.
But... A game better than Halo? If there WERE such a PS3 game, I would be itching to get one, held back only perhaps by its price or my sheer hatred of Sony. However, with the current state of things the PS3 game library is barely surpassing Gears of War.

Xbox360, & WII are obviously the best. PS3= to gay, and also graphics aren't as superior as Xbox360; in some games.

 

Why is ps3 shit? As i said, apart from the price of it. The ps3 CONSOLE is the best out at the momment. Just it hasn't got good enough games in the market yet. But it will happen, eventually.

 

I don't see why the majority of 360 fanboys (Muffinator included) think Halo is the game of games. I'm not saying it's a horrible game or anything, it's just that it received way too much hype for being a slightly above average shooter that managed to incorporate coop quite well.
The multiplayer aspect if definately fun, but it is not worth the game alone. If you're truely looking for multiplayer experiences, go with games like UT or COD4.
As for the single player, well there is quite a bit to be desired. I'm sure many people will back me up on that.

Now you may say that H3 has the forge, videos etc. etc. etc.
Congratulations, you're basically where the PC was at about 3ish (maybe more) years ago. Again, nothing special.

As for graphics, well, graphics don't define the game, but you would think that for the most hyped game for the 360 they would have wanted to crank up the specs a bit. This is nothing major though, and hardly a downpoint.

Halo is by no means a bad game. I'm just saying that it doesn't deserve the hype it gets. Games like Bioshock, The Orange Box deserve higher praise any day.

Also: this is just a thought about Halo. No comparisons to the PS3 etc.
