Hey, when I typed in "runescape cheating," I saw Sythe on Google (obviously) with the following description:

Sythe.org is a large site focused around rune scape cheating, rune scape cheats, cheats for rune scape and cheating at rune scape.

My question is, how do you add a search description like that on your own forum? I can't find anywhere on Sythe where it states that.

It's in the meta description

Yea, but unless your site gets large, google will not put it near the front of the search anyways... But you still should have them in there.

I put one of my client's sites in the #1 position for several very competitive keywords, and her site has only been up for a month. If you have the skillz, anything's possible. (The meta description was also used in several of the page's Google descriptions).

Actually... most of the time, the meta keywords don't do shit. In fact, Google goes more by content, than the meta keywords. The number 1 spot isn't based on keywords, but unique traffic, and how often that site is clicked from a search pertaining to whatever word is searched.

It's not skillz, fool, it's just general knowledge.

"wentiuwe bnitwopei jqontewb yewitwe" are not competitive keywords.

It's bassed on a pagerank.

Not necessarily; one of my sites has a page rank of 5, yet it comes before youtube, wikipedia, etc.

I think it also has allot to do with SEO, but what Deac said works best.

PageRank is more the "tiebreaker" when it comes to search engine ranking.

What matters the most is:

* Keyword visibility and prominence [<title>, <h>, <b>, <strong>, etc]
* Text in internal/external link descriptions
* Keyword density

PageRank is used to fine-tune the order that is created by the above characteristics and other in-page variables.

<META> tags are used ONLY for the site's description in Google when a sufficient paragraph is not found in the text.
The site I was referencing is an image-heavy gallery site for an artist, so Google decided to use the meta text I included instead of any of the descriptions in the page body itself.

Deacon, there are people known as "Search Engine Optimizers" who use their experience to code search-engine friendly pages designed to rank high on a certain keyword.

People who do not realize that you have to play a very active part in ranking their sites will almost never wind up with a high rank.

so isnt it odd that sythe is that easy to find? i mean i dont think jagex would be happy about it?

When Jagex attempts to view the site, all they get is a 404 error.

As far as they know this place hasn't existed for years.

still i think jagex staff has computers at home just idk wouldn't like this site to get ruinned by some mod >_<

Search engine optimization.

It is truly an art.

That's a good point, I've thought about it before.
They have computer's at home just like us? How can they not get one, just because you blocked they main jagex computers.
Can anyone answer that? Jagex workers can get on the site like anyone else tbh.

Can someone explain to me how to block Jagex?
