Suggestion: Simba Rank

How is this going to be given to people? So far I've just seen the SCAR Developer or whatever a few times so it would be pretty pointless to add this rank if it keeps a fun rank. It could potentially be earned after meeting certain criteria or something.

 

The way of getting such a rank (or at least for me) was PMing an admin with scripts I had written. If they were up to the bar, the rank was to be given out.

Ex: I PM'd Govind my Soul wars/Yew/Mining Guild scripts when I was applying for my current rank.

I see no problem with there being two separate ranks, or one all together. Lets be honest, not many users are going to have them anyway so why not seperate Scar from Simba.

But what if for example I can code Java / C#? Can I request a rank for that too?

Why should we be supporting favourtism to certain bots? I think we all know that the relationship between Simba and SCAR is greater than TriBot, RuneDream and RSBot. We should just have programmer ranks as it standardizes everything and means less ranks need to be added.

 

I would suggest a Scripter rank as a programmer rank is kind of vague, it could also be the building of iPhone apps or Windows programs. Scripter would already be a lot clearer.

 

How would scripter be a lot clearer. Scripting is programming and if some scripters can't program outside of their API they use then you don't want them to have this rank.

 

There can be a 'Pascal' programmer rank, but since no one knows what that is, Color Scripter will do.

As for favoritism, all of the Java bot programmers who want a rank can try for the Java rank. Never coded for/don't know Java, but how similar is the programming for each of the bots? I'm sure for all the injection ones it's super duper similar.

 

Ok, once again, scripting != programming... Also, there's already a Java Programmer rank, if I'm not mistaken; so why don't you just try for that? Why whine so much about there being a rank for 'Color Scripter'? You keep saying that there should be an equivalent rank for 'Java Scripter', or something along those lines, so why don't you make a thread for that then? Color scripter is too vague and could confuse users with Simba and RuneDrem(two different color bots in two different languages). Most people know that Simba/SCAR is Pascal and it's not hard for them to find out. As for similarity, you go through the same process I guess however there is different naming etc, there are java color bots and they're different.

Well Scripting is technically programming, you're just using the API provided by the bot to do stuff as you use the Windows API or Swing API in .Net and Java. You think I'm whining because I don't have a rank? Wow.... The Java Rank is actually a fun rank and you don't 'try' for it you are noticed and awarded it as should any rank. Read above paragraph. If I said there should a Java Scripter rank then I shouldn't have, I just said if there will be a rank for Simba then there should be a rank for the other major bots however I support programming language ranks rather than bot ranks so to speak, this thread is related to the Simba rank.

 

Let me explain why I went for color scripter instead of something different. The skills required to create a simba or scar bot are really similar, the hardest thing isn't the code itself but navigating through a game or other activity with color. The skills this take are very similar between scar and simba, I haven't used RID myself but I guess it would also apply on the same principle. I don't know why people scripting for another bot couldn't receive it.

The symbols beneath the text color scripter represent simba, scar and the color aspect. I've chosen for these symbols opposed to other color bots because they have the biggest relation with sythe. Simba might be a new program, and the history of it might be small, but you have to acknowledge that a big part of the simba user base are or were scar scripters.

Long story short, this isn't a pascal programming or scripting rank I designed. Rather it is a rank given to people who can create a script using colors. Be it RID, simba or scar.

 

It's RD btw not RID.

Why should they get this rank? Ask yourself that. Also the problem is that you can't have a general 'color scripter' rank as it is far too broad.
