Heres the problem i have and not sure if i should be feeling this way so i came here for your opinion.

My name is Clyde and i have these 3 close friends that i hang out with on almost daily basis. They're cool and everything and all we do is chill out and smoke pot in our free time. For the past year or so ive been the one smoking everyone down here and there and it didnt really start to bug me until i realized how much they depend on me to either always have match or smoke them down (They rarely smoke me down). So for the past 3-4 days i stopped smoking pot and smoking and on the first day they asked for match, the 2nd day no one called, the 3rd day they asked for match again, today one of them called and asked to borrow $10 but i told them i had no money.

Ive been close friends with these people for a good 1-2 years and didnt think they were these kind of people. i always offered to smoke them down when they needed it, i figured when i needed a smokedown or something they would be there for me but they are no where to be found when im broke. Should i stop hanging with these guys or should i just stop with the smokedowns and everything? i mean theyre cool people i guess but i really dont wanna be taken advantage of just cause i have money to spend. Please note these are my only close friends and im dropped out of highschool at the moment so i dont see myself making some new ones for awhile, ontop of that im a shy guy.

ive been smoking pot since i was 16 on almost a daily basis and im about to turn 19 in october so im sorta of glad i managed to stop even though its only for a dew days . anyways thanks for reading!

That made no sense to me for a while, but I'm assuming you're saying that they are just using you to get weed. In which case no, you shouldn't be their friend. However, have you even bothered to contact them? By the sounds of things you haven't.

Could you clarify what "smoke down" is. If it's you supply their weed then don't be friends with them. They're using you. Go out and find some new people.

You don't need them, go find some real friends.

Smoking down, means smoking them up (Smoking weed with them; using your own weed)

I HIGHLY suggest you talk to them about it. This exact situation happened to me, and I felt like my friends were using me for weed and booze. So, I told them that I felt like the only reason they wanted to hang with me was because I was always the drug and booze guy. They really respected me for doing that, and now always offer me stuff, or will match all the time, or buy me food and shit, its great. If you can talk to them about it, and tell them how you feel, and if they respect that, and say they want to fix it, they are TRUE friends. If they don't want to change that, and ignore the fact that you think they are using you, they are indeed using you. So, what I am saying, talk to them, express what you feel about them using you, and see how they respond/react to it. Best of wishes.

I found it quite funny that you call it "smoking them down" as I've never heard that before. Around here its called "smoking them up".

Anyways, OT: You need to ditch these friends, or if they really are your good buddies then put your foot down and tell them to stop mooching. I can tell you with 100% certainty that wherever there is drugs, there will ALWAYS be mooches, and people who act like your friends and always want to hang around you. But the reality is, they just want some free drugs.

If you feel that they are making use of you then you should not allow that to happen! You don't need to completely not be friends with them. Just make your stand clear that you will not be made use of.

However, if things don't work out well and you realise that they were hanging out with you only for the benefits then it's time to leave them, or just remain as normal friends, not 'close' ones.
