[Resolved] Scam Report - SpaceGems (eCheck PayPal)

Explanation of the trade: I was selling $95 worth of BTC. He was supposed to pay through paypal after confirmation that the bitcoin was sent.
How they scammed: I don't believe this person intentianlly scammed me. However, what was meant to be an immediate payment, hasn't happened, and its been 4 days. I sent the BTC immediately. After the BTC was sent and confirmed. The other party sent the PayPal, but he sent it as an eCheck. I have been informed by the mods that this isn't allowed due to the fact that this takes 3-5 buisness days to go through. I need this money urgently and the payment hasn't come through yet. I sent the money immediately, expecting it to come through immediately, but I am still waiting.

Hey! I see he didn't put a GIF of my UID but I can confirm that this is me. Detective and I have been put in a very bad situation and it is my fault. I was buying BTC from him and sent him a Paypal payment after receiving the BTC (94$) but it was accidentally sent as an e-check. I meant to send it as a payment funded through my debit card via Friends and Family, which is always instant and why I typically do. I think somehow my bank was selected as the funds source instead of my card and so it sent as an e-check without me realizing. This means the money was pending for 3-5 days while he needed the payment instantly.

We are seeking moderation for this because I can't cancel/dispute and he can't refund the e-check. He would like me to send the payment over again in full because it was my mistake however I don't want to simply because I sent the e-check and have already had funds withdrawn from my account, and although he seems sincere, I don't want to get scammed by sending the payment twice and not having the e-check reimbursed once it clears.

We had decided on a resolution, but now he isn't happy with that agreement, which is understandable, so that's why we are here.
The agreement was that I pay him an extra 5 dollars and that I would also cover the sending fee's on a new purchase of 50$ BTC so that he would receive extra money. We did both of these things, 5$ is sent and I purchased 50$ BTC more via a properly sent instant PP payment which he received. I feel really bad about him not having access to the funds, which was totally my fault, but also not comfortable sending the money in full to him a second time while he already has a pending payment.

I'm fine with whatever the mods decide as far as a resolution for this. It occurred one or two days ago already so the check should clear in 1-3 days. As I said it has been withdrawn from my bank already which I can provide proof of to any Mod or in a deleted post.

He has been very anxious and kind of spamming me for money, which i'm not comfortable sending, prior to a mods decision, based on the interactions we have had thus far; however His reaction is totally understandable given the situation I put him in. I think he is sincere but just need mod guidance here for how to resolve this thing I fucked up.

Once again this was my fault and I would like to find an amicable resolution guided by the mods, despite already sending some extra money I feel bad and just wanna make this right.

 

I appreciate SpaceGems sincerity in this situation. However, I do want to make clear that the transaction for the $50 was a 2nd transaction, unrelated to the one being reported. The motive for this 2nd transaction was selling BTC of course, but also proving that he can send immediately, and hence an eCheck was never necesary. I accepted going through a 2nd transaction as long as he paid the fee because I was already suspicious of him and this mistake happening again.

 

I was under the impression it was resolved after we exchanged vouches and words after the second transaction when we discussed and I apologized again and he said 'ok no worries' speaking about the delayed payment. Obviously he changed his mind about it being resolved, which is his right to do and I don't want to gip him if the mods feel like there is more owed here.
