Reading ... do you actually do it?

I will say without a doubt that I read slower now then I did when I was in school. I will also say it is because of the fact I don't read as much as I used to.

 

Leave it to Sythe to start a debate about the availability of audiobooks.

I really don't read as often than I should. I know there are lots of great books out there, like Atlas Shrugged or Brave New World I should get into, but I need a physical copy of a book for me to fully grasp the book. I can read online, but it doesn't hold my attention. I generally get distracted by other elements on the computer. It comes with ADHD. Audiobooks are even worse at holding my attention.

 

I read the newspaper daily and such.

I don't have time in my week to be reading novels...

I'm either enjoying time with my friends, Athletics or doing homework or revision.

About a year ago I was really a really keen on reading finishing all the Halo series books in under 2 months.

I've got a iPad now but it still doesn't motivate me to want to read..

 

Yes, I read 1-2 books a week, sometimes even more if I'm bored.
I like fantasy / scient(ish) books.

 

I dont really read book, boring in my opinion, but i dont mind reading magazines being whatever, something thats very interesting such as cook book, latest things comming out etc. anything that looks interesting is great.

 

i read like a book a month. if eBooks count, then like 1 or 2 a week

 

I read quite often and from any genre.

Love reading tbh, I don't read to often though as it's hard to find the time (usually to tired at night) but when you get into a good book it's hard to put it down.

EDIT: should have said, "I don't read as often as i use to, as I don't enough time lately."

 

Unless I'm forced to read.

 

I read books for school, but outside of that the last time I read a book was when I was on a school trip and I read like 5 books. >_>. I used to read a lot more though.

 

I love books. Especially Fahrenheit 451 and Lord of the Flies. I am a very fast reader, so about 1+ a week. I like Stephen King, also. There's just something about books that is just... fantastic.

 

I would like to read more books, but I hardly ever do. I've read about 4 books in all from cover to cover. The rest I skim for school. I read random article from time to time.

 

I only read manga..if anything.

It's really enjoyable to read books, and in some rare cases, I become hooked in a book and i can't stop reading it. Unfortunately, this happens very seldom.

I hope that I will start to read more books someday, just for the sake of reading. I find it hard to find anything to read seeing as i never read!

I've tried going to the library in hope of finding a book that catches my interests but I never found anything.

 

I don't read books often but i would read anything interesting. Mostly anything in SFA i would read about may it be an article or a chapter or 2 of a book. I like to learn a bit about everything.

 

I tend to read in spurts, where I'll read a ton of books, but then I'll go months without reading a book, it's weird.

 

I get to read 1984, Brave New World, and Prince for school over the summer. I've also read most of the Michael Crichton books in my free time.

I'm a lifeguard and get to read during my 40 minute breaks

 

Generally I read quite often, it gives me something to draw my inspiration from.

And also,

I find them quite difficult to absorb as well >_<
(I'm really picky about tone and expression in the reader's voice)
A bad reader just ruins it
