Re-Name Recycle Bin

[dannis trinh]

2 guidezors Yay

NOTE: Windows Xp Only. Vista Users can change it by highlighting the text and editing it there

What this is a guide to change the name of Recycle Bin. Why would you like to do this

Reasons

1. Its an annoying name.
2. It Doesn't actually recycle.
3. Because i told you to do it.

Lets do it.

Step one = Go to Start -> Run -> regedit. It should look like this.

Step two = Press Control+F and search Recycle Bin then press F3 until comes up.

Step three = Right Click on the value you just found and click MODIFY. Where it says Value Data and beneath it, it says Recycle Bin that's what your going to change. For example i named mine "Dump". It looks like this

Name yours whatever you want

Last Step = Press okay, close regedit. You see the desktop and it still says Recycle Bin huh? Well press F5 a couple of times and click on a screen that covers the whole screen Like "Runescape HD Ftw" and it should change to whatever you named it. This is how mine turned out.

Thanks for reading post Bugs/Thanks all here. This has been another great guide made by Dannis Trinh. You may copy my guide but you must ask me first and give proper credit.

[Coder]

It is a guide that is good for the people who really need it. But I am pretty sure most people do not... so yeah.. 6/10.

All of this work just to rename Recycling Bin, totally not worth it.

*Tsk**Tsk**Tsk* Lazy boy it takes like a minute

[Deacon Frost]

.... And why wouldn't you just highlight it, wait 2 seconds, then click the name again so it gives you a form in which you can type it out?

Honestly, waste of RAM >.>

(I saw this guide, and decided to do it both ways. I changed it my way, and i changed it your way. My way took 3 seconds, Literally. Yours took like 30.)

[The Dark]

Well written guide, on an unneeded subject

[Onex]

Very random, but its a nice guide. Good job

[Dark Devil]

Heh lol you owned me..thought I could right click and rename

[dannis trinh]

So did Deacon Frost lol

[noobsarenew2]

rename it to "Recycle Bin Laden" and make the icon some arab

[Deacon Frost]

So did Deacon Frost lol

What's that about THINKING, when I did it by clicking the icon, waiting a second, then clicking the name, it highlighted it in a form, and I changed the name....

E: And you CAN right click/rename... .

I'm not saying you didn't make the guide well, I'm saying the guide was pointless. .

[Vlad]

I made that myself

[dannis trinh]

[Vlad]

You both have vista im pritty sure

[Deacon Frost]

It let me do that in Windows XP Essential too.

But now I do have Vista, you are correct sir.
