I had an essay due a while ago about whether or not the "n-word" is appropriate... does anyone know any statistics or anything like that that would help me prove that the word isn't derogatory.

Well, even though it is not politically correct, both black and white people call each other by it. It was originally used as a way to put down African Americans, but it has grown into a way to greet people.

People fear what they do not know or understand, and those who shutter at the word need to open their eyes and realize it is not the 17/1800s.

Thank you, I'll probably use all of that in the essay...I'm not so sure how to cite a market mod though, so I'll just say I made it up, sorry.
