I wish I was there bro. It sucks being an American that loves all things soccer/football. Most fans here if they do watch are just casual and don't really know much about the sport. Honestly I had no idea the history United had when I became a fan during that Arsenal/United game. I just liked their name / logo / crest and was a big fan of Diego Forlan. Just kind of stuck with them since. My Dad is an Aston Villa/Tottenham fan so I always root for them to do well. You'd think I'd hate City the most but it's actually probably Chelsea or Liverpool.

 

It's similar here but on a lesser scale, more traditional here then US I would say as there are a lot of oldschool fans moved over from the UK - especially here in Perth.
Your old man can't support Villa and Spurs - that's not a thing. Not like it's his local non-league club that he just goes to watch because they're local and cheap.

 

Well he grew up a Villa fan as a kid but when he started watching the Premier League again he naturally gravitated to the Spurs.

 

From memory Villa have been in the top flight more then not over the last decade.

Interesting, I'm like 90 percent sure some American commentators have called them that (adding 'the' in there), probably where I picked up that habit.

Well and truly time to liven up this thread One of the most complete and dominant performances I've seen by us in arguably the biggest game ever at the Lane. I have never felt this before, but today from the off - I never felt like we were going to lose to that scum.

With both the Manny clubs dropping points as well, it was there for the Woolwich to claw back some ground but they are a bottlejob.

To be fair you guys play really good football and I love Eriksen, but you guys just choke in the title race.

 

You need to learn what choking is to be honest we were 2 wins behind you going in to the Westham game and never on top - that's not bottling it. I'm not even salty by the way as I feel less and less invested in Tottenham as the game is modernized with BS modern PR narrative like this as well us leaving the Lane.

As for doing nothing in Europe - Was still in this decade when we go to Semis of CL against Real after beating Milan, Inter after the season they won it.

Next year the expectations will be a lot higher. A lot higher. Compete for the league crown for one, and a respectable showing in the Champions league.

All I'm saying is at the end our season turned out better than tottenham, city, liverpool and arsenal.

United did park the bus a bit after they got the lead but let's be honest, most teams do that when they get a lead in Cup finals. It's just how it goes.

Lol I agree with that. Still though, 3 trophies is pretty good. Even if I do consider 2 of them mickey mouse trophies. I do think Europa League is quite big though because it's their first time ever getting it. Would have liked to see them beat better teams to get it though. Their lead up to the final were all garbage teams and a lot of them pushed United.

I can be realistic, I know that they're a good distance away from winning the league and competing in champions league. Their level needs to rise significantly, and parking the bus doesn't really work vs those better teams.
