I've missed like at least 4 generations and I'm interested in that new pokemon game coming out. Is it worth buying a 2ds and playing the latest generation game? It would be nice filler time while at the same time reliving my childhood in a way

I do like a few 2nd generation pokemon but that's it.

interested in both tbh, i know the sun and moon one isn't coming out for a while so if i do decide to get one soon, i might as well get the latest game or something

 

I wouldnt get omega ruby alpha sapphire unless you have played the 3rd gen already

TBH either get sun & moon when it comes out, or get an emulator and play everything you've missed

 

You can play the new games on an emulator? I remember trying a while ago and there wasn't one available

 

As far as im aware you can play up to black 2 and white 2 on emulators.

 

I bought fire red, emerald and platinum for this reason with a 2ds. Would definitely recommend as it's not that expensive. Sadly haven't played it in a couple months, but it is a lot of fun =)

 

i do remember playing pokemon black on an emulator long ago, but quit like midway through because the lag made it unbearable. I'm more interested in the newer games though. i think its gen6. i've seen some playthroughs lately and it's really piqued my interest so I think I'll just chuck some cash for the console

Get one 100% man. First gen released on the Nintendo store and they remade 3rd gen. 10/10 man

 

yeah my only complaint about the newer games is the decrease in design quality.. it's really bad lol

That's not terrible. There is a pokemon in one of the newer gens who is literally a bag of garbage.
