[DENIED] Pokémon MiniRank Update

I feel like we have far too many Pokémon miniranks at the moment and the majority of the community only care about generations 1 and 2 for the most part (#001-#251).

There are currently 493 Pokémon miniranks from generations 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Out of all the Pokémon miniranks available, there are 237 that have been issued with 155 unique.

• Generation I: 67 unique miniranks issued
• Generation II: 32 unique miniranks issued
• Generation III: 41 unique miniranks issued
• Generation IV: 15 unique miniranks issued

Generation 1 has the most duplicates by far, which is understandable. The most notable duplicates outside of generation 1 are Milotic (8) and Rayquaza (7) from generation 3.

I don't know the story behind those who own miniranks from generations 3 and 4, but I suspect the majority of them, aside from Milotic and Rayquaza, were awarded from opening Poké Prizeboxes.

I am suggesting that we remove generations 3 and 4 from the mix to have a cleaner collection for people to choose from. It was cool initially to have so many Pokémon, but it doesn't feel like all of them are being utilized or the community doesn't have much interest in them. There may be potential in the future to have shiny versions of generation 1 and 2 Pokémon added and placed into the Pokémon Master minirank, making it a super rare prizebox. A small percent chance to obtain one from a regular Poké Prizebox could be added too.

I think there's a lot of potential for these miniranks, other miniranks, and collections too. However, we should take time to review what we've done in the past and make necessary changes to improve the minirank system.

I've proposed 3 options for action. Please vote accordingly.

Why on earth would they get to trade from gen 1/2. #Keep the uniques. Give them a random poke prize box.

 

So would these later Pokemon that would be done away with instantly become 'rarer.' As in they've been brought onto Sythe but are no longer redeemable?

 

Support , I think keeping the OG Pokémon is better than having a bunch of randoms

 

No support, would change the price of current gen1-2 pokemon and/or the price of the pokebox... Not a good idea for the people that investing in those Minirank

I say Remove gen 3/4 and let users redeem them for poke prize box or pokemon of choice. ( Say 3 3/4th gens = 1 poke of choice) and 1 3rd or 4th gen = poke prizebox

 

i dont agree with getting rid of ALL gen 3/4 pokemon. i agree most of the pokemon from those generations are unknown/unwanted but there are definitely some that are worth to keep like popular and legendary ones.

Any of the game mascots or legendary poke shouldn't be removed, as well as any ones that have already been awarded. I think a good alternative is to remove Gen 3/4 pokemon that havent been awarded yet and that arent legendary. This will still be a good chunk of pokemon that are gone.

 

I updated option #2 to include this as we wouldn't force users to get rid of their miniranks.

 

Dialga for example should be redeemed for two (or three?) tier 3 prizeboxes. If we can come up with a list of rarity we can figure out how many prizeboxes each user should get for their gen 3/4 minis. That way I would support the removal, however otherwise it wouldn’t be fair towards those users.

 

If you let them trade for a mini of their choice from gen 1/2, it would greatly affect the prices. Sorry for double post, phone sucks.

 

there are 135 Gen 3 pokemon on the collection. 41 of those have been awarded and theres a few more legendary ones that havent. that still leaves 2/3 of Gen 3 being taken away easily as they havent been awarded.

there are 107 Gen 4 pokemon in the collection. only 15 have been awarded with a few legendary that havent. That would leave the majority of Gen 4 being taken away easily as they havent been awarded

doing this would avoid the whole trading system and is a simple middle ground, which will still remove roughly 1/3 of the current collection

 

No support for the simple reason that quite honestly, people liking whatever pokemon they choose is uniquely up to them. Having a wide variety of minis available means that there is quite honestly something for everyone and not everybody is accustomed to gen 1/2 pokemon. They could honestly be more familiar with other gens and like their concept much more and taking it away seems quite unnecessary, leave something for everyone tbh.

I don't see having more minis being such a huge problem or causing anything bad, it's there and it's for all members of the community both old and new to have fun with and aim for. Keep them as is, it's not hurting anyone.

 

The second option seems the fairest. Gen 1/2 are the most notable and well known pokemon.

It is strange seeing random minis that I have no idea what they are; and they turn out to be pokemon.

 

Keep it how it is. It's not going to solve the situation of how dead the mini rank market is. A lot people have already invested in mini ranks and it would be unfair for them if you removed gen 2,3 or 4.

 

ill change my vote to keep the minis the way they are. while I agree getting rid of most gen 3/4 is a good idea, I really dont want the whole trading thing as its just a get out of jail free card for people who bought them for cheap or decided to open a prizebox.

 

I say remove gen 3 and 4 Pokemon there's way to many Pokemon's as it is.

@Shin can you make it so we can display 5 rows of miniranks or more like before when there was no limit.

 

Only @Matthew can do that. I don't know if something for that will be added in a future iteration of the Sythe User Center.
