Players Attitudes Degraded

players attitude went to shit around 2004 when the game started to pick up steam on the younger crowds

 

These days, just kids in general are more abusive and less respectful.

Runescape's community was good until it became a more mainstream game. Then there's the trend in RWT (you pricks ) and generally you don't have to even work hard to be good/rich/fangirled, so kids just take it for granted and act like total dicks rather than earning their "respect".

 

It's jagex's fault also, that they took away the wildy and free trade in 2007. After that, there was a rift between newfags and oldfags.

 

Yeah, it gets pretty bad sometimes. I leave my public chat on "friends" because to be honest i find that rarely if ever now will i meet someone who is actually semi-nice. Now i just stick to all of the old friends and clan mates i've met years before.

 

When I was younger, people on Runescape used to be really nice and helpful when I had a question. Now it just seems like everyone doesn't care about other people and just want to be better than everyone else.

 

When I approach people like that (or they approach me) I just love on 'em so.

 

Yep, RuneScape has really filled up with little kids now.
Most mature older players have quit or moved onto college/life.

Just the other day, I was training and some kid decided to start cussing me out when I asked him to quit crashing my spot.

I think it's quite funny that these little kids call other people 'kid' and when you tell them that it's obvious how young and immature they are, they make up false excuses by saying that they're in college or something.

Not only have kids these days gotten ruder, but they're gotten a lot stupider as well.

 

Runescape is becoming much more flashy and technologically more advanced than ever that it is attracting younger kids IMHO. They just are not as mature as some, and it is very sad.

 

Yeah people are too competitive

I've noticed this a lot, if I troll back they usually refer to me as a Kid. I'm not altogether sure why they feel the need to do this, are they insecure about the fact that they are young? I really have no clue.

 

I feel like it's just the whole troll / jerk mentality of the internet itself. It's almost like it's rubbing off to real life as well.

 

This kind of behaviour is all too common on the internet even in COD and shit on xbox...

There are still some players that are polite. When I train combat, which I hardly do anymore, I leave to another world if I'm slowing down someone's training and they ask me to.

 

The average age is like 13, what do you expect. They're all little kids raging that they haven't hit puberty, but it could be far worse. At least if you don't reasons you get called a bot, but if you do you get raged at. Tell them if they're so bothered to hop, just keep stealing their kills. Works well for me

 

Trolling has reached an all time high. People are assholes all the time now.
