Phats are Crashing lol

Tbh if i had a phat..santa...mask...god sword.. id do what ive seen ppl do rent them for like 100k a hour lmao and people do it :O

nobody needs them, or can afford them, therefore when nobody buys stuff, the prices drop on the ge. demand higher, prices higher, lower demand, lower prices.

I think because merch died no one can use them to make huge profits of merch. I can't do bugger all with my white or red, lol. Also item lending killed it, since once people got to wear em - they didn't buy.

 

I'm glad they are finally crashing. These things are retarded pieces of crap. Losers used to stake them that's basically all my friend ever did with his. Oh, and showed it off. Big woop. I would rather get higher stats or have items that actually give a bonus. HURRAY FOR PHAT CRASH

What's new lol? They've been crashing, even in the GE. On the street the are dirt cheap you just need junk.

 

Good post I found on the RSB from Etn0r, explaining his view of the current situation. Note this is very lengthy and people with short attention spans/retarded should not read.

Before the unbalanced trade update blue phat was 275-300m. I have believed, Twicethenice, that the same thing you mentioned would happen as well. It only makes sense. The problem with partyhats is, nothing. If everybody tries to sell their p'hat because it's worthless, it will be worthless. But a lot of the times people don't play this game because they enjoy it. People make decisions to seem cool to other people or to just make the most gp. I have a green partyhat and every 3a set, everybody that sees me in the game is like 'omg partyhat.' Nobody knows what 3a is in comparison to a partyhat. Everybody still views partyhat as a very rare, respectable item. It's just cost-wise it has to balance out to what players were willing to pay before hand, like Twicethenice said.

Just take my advice, I'm going to keep buying green party hats because they will get cheaper. Eventually I will have a lot of them right? If you think about it, the cheaper it gets the more p'hats flow around the market. If people buy them cheap, because they want to keep them, the flow will stop after a while because people will have bought them all. It will just take forever because they cost so much. Then everybody will be buying max, because someone has it and they don't; then they want to have it so they will junk trade 50m over what it's worth.

You see the trend happening, now 3a isn't sold w/ phats as much. It used to be crazy offers of 3a w/ phat. I bought my green with range bottoms, mage hat and a cat mask. Now I can't find that type of offer, you may randomly but overall no. Search 'partyhat' on forums. So regardless of what people think it is changing.

Also you cannot compare rares to any dropped item. Due to the fact there is a limited number and overtime any person or group could buy them all.

So in the end, partyhats will always be the most rare item in the game. If you think they aren't, I'd like to see your wonderful collection.

he only problem with partyhats is, their non-activity for the past few months up until recently when the GE decided to update their price.

Many on this thread have mentioned the junk trading aspect of a party had and the theoretical street value of a p'hat being 0. The problem with that is, it's not true. People traded 3a with a partyhat because 3a really isn't worth 200m on the street. It's an incentive to buy a partyhat. The thing was nobody bought p'hats so that was the only way. People junk trade phats w/ 3a and animal masks.

Animal masks are reaching their breaking point in the GE, eventually they are going to even out and become sell able. That's going to hit the merchant market hard. All that is left to junk trade with is divine/elysian shields (MAYBE) and 3rd age. Now that 3rd age is updating in the GE at least once a week, it won't be long till that evens out. So.. now that partyhats are crashing and 3rd age/masks are rising like crazy.

It's only a matter of time before p'hats crash so hard nobody can sell 3a because they don't get enough coins based on their 'street value', because the p'hat is so cheap. Then when p'hats are bottomed how will you sell 3rd age to people? I mean, if you have 100m for a purple, 200m for a white. You're very limited even if the street value is 0 on them on what 3a you can trade with them and it be fair, based on a street value. It's a stall to merchant h hardcore amounts of cash. People junk trade (masks for 3a, phat+3a for cash, that type) to bypass GE so the price doesn't change as drastically. This leads us into the situation with partyhats, they are being sold to move 3rd age. Once 3rd age isn't as popular, wow. Partyhats are going to explode. It will be funny.

I personally don't play into the games of the rising/falling prices of the GE or street valued price. People should buy what they want to help them enjoy the game, instead of worrying about it crashing or what merchants are doing on world 2.

The Grand Exchange has completely killed runescape. If the prices stayed the same instead of changing so much I would enjoy runescape again.

 

I hope they drop back down to the classic values, i miss less than 10 m for a party hat.

 

I can proudly say that I started to buy phats a month ago, right before they crashed.

I began with 2 yellows for 150m each. 300m total for them both, now worth like 220m. I did some trading and now have 5 purples, which drop like 900k a day.

I'm losing millions as we speak, but I love it. Partyhats are some of the coolest items in the game and I agree with etn0r. They are only correcting to their original price.

It took me ages to find decent deals on these purples, hell I even bought on in min for the fun of it. They will probably hit 90m or so and people will take interest and start buying.

Im guessing by the end of November they will buy/sell on GE

Why do people flame phats/rares crashing? You know half of you go ahahahaah phats are falling and then go on to say that youll buy one when its low enough. I mean wtf? you flame phats and call them useless, but intend to buy it when its price is low enough?

This indicates how much of a jealous hypocrite noob you are. You cant buy phats when their the most admired item in RS and rising so you flame phats and all rares. But deep inside you really want one and are willing ot buy when its low.

Fucking fail. I had some lvl 114 at clan wars come up to me and say `hahaahahah phat noob their dropping like 3m a day`. Then afterward his like Ill borrow for 50k an hour?
