I've seen many vouches such as "I sold this person an account, ty". How is this allowed? This is a vouch for what exactly? Example:
@Cakes A vouch is just evidence of having done a trade with someone. If they bought your account, you can vouch for that fact on their vouch thread. It is a little weird that buyers receive vouches, but that is why it makes sense to check quality of vouches instead of quantity of vouches before trading someone. @Lorenzo Trust trades and the like cannot be vouched for. You should report posts that don't obviously vouch for a trade so we can ask the poster to edit in what the vouch was for.
This must’ve been a new change then considering this wasn’t always the case. I have once asked Shin about this and he said that not all vouches have to be trade-related. For example when me and someone else get along very well, talk often and get to an extent where I would fully trust him I was also allowed to vouch on their vouch threads.
We do not allow vouches for trust trades, and we do not allow vouches unless a trade has occurred. I'll update the vouch forum rules to make this clearer. Are there any other corner cases that are still unclear? @Cakes @Wortel Vouch Section Rules
Yes it is unclear to me why an admin, note: the head admin at the time, claims differently while until now there hasn’t been any updates announced regarding this ruling.
I asked @video about this before posting yesterday. I don't know what guidelines were in place before, but I can't see a good reason why people should be able to vouch for non-trades.
