So Albus Nox stunned their way to a QF birth. Rox picked it back up and finished the 1 seed in the group winning their last 2 games convincingly.

Tonight is probably my least favorite group going at it. We'll see what happens.

Crazy day again. H2K goes off for a 4-0 record on the day and EDG BARELY survive making it out of groups. Needed a huge comeback vs AHQ just to survive. Got stomped by H2K in battle for one seed tiebreaker.

Not necessarily about worlds but I think it deserves a mention: Albus Nox have qualified to IEM World Championship Katowice.

My predictions have been off so far. Had CLG, not Albus advancing, and had AHQ advancing, not H2K. Got Rox and EDG right but that's not exactly surprising. What is surprising, however, is that they both needed to win their last group game (not tie-breaker) just to make it into quarterfinals.

 

Samsung wins Group D, it's all down to RNG TSM to decide the 2nd seed out of the group. Will TSM hold firm or have arguably the biggest choke in the history of NA LoL?

Super disappointing play from TSM's botlane. Can't say they didn't deserve to lose though, congratulations to RNG and SSG for making it out.

 

Doublelift has just never been able to show up internationally wherever he has been. Quite frankly, he choked. Bjergsen tried to drag their lifeless corpses across the finish line time and time again this tournament. Biofrost showed his youth, Doublelift choked as usual, Hauntzer was inconsistent, Svenskeren and Bjergsen were left to do everything and even they had some bad games.

I just cannot get behind TSM. I think their organization is incredibly cocky/arrogant, troll other NA teams like CLG incessantly on Twitter, and are generally just annoying. They also didn't shake hands with Samsung after the game today. Apparently they did in the back (aka their public relations staff trying to save a shitstorm).

 

I'm quite surprised by H2K's performance tbh.. Good EUW lel

 

Bjergsen rly needs to leave TSM and find a new team where he can show the kind of player he truly is, not carry TSM in the back anymore like hes been doing for the last 3 years

Everyone banters on twitter, literally every player, coach, analyst, everyone lol. Think you've over reacting massively.

Also, there's video footage of TSM going and hugging/shaking hands with SSG in the locker room.

Them not doing it initially was actually due to Riots miscommunication.

 

Disagree (respectfully), it's a general/genuine dislike Reginald Dinh has for CLG. His back-story explains why and to each their own. Nothing wrong with banter or trash talk.

That's how TSM operates, they are the Patriots of League. When they win, their fans shit on everyone, when they lose, they get shit on.

And no, CLG players have not trolled TSM at all on any platform. You're thinking about the EU culture where everyone banters. Around here it's usually only TSM stirring the pot. Unless you're talking about Aphro and Doublelift which is not banter, that's a pretty genuine dislike it seems.

And yeah I already said they shook hands after the fact. That was really one anecdote among many I could point out. Just watch any Doublelift interview, his ego could not be fit into MSG. Go onto Twitter and find the Post MSI TSM tweets versus CLG player tweets after tonight.

Like I said, nothing wrong with the style. It's not an overreaction on my part. I just don't like TSM. Their fans too are little babies. You cannot blame a tie-breaker rule that was in place before a single game started. Not to mention they were spouting off about how they'd go 6-0 in this group anyway.

So much more about TSM than just their team is annoying to me. If you consume a lot of E-Sports news TSM gets painted in quite a different light. Banter is just a nice word to call shitting on someone lol.

The reality is this was a team hyped up as North America's great hope and they couldn't even make it out of groups. They'd have had to beat teams better than the ones they faced to win this thing. Now they've got egg all over their faces. That's what happens when you talk big and choke over and over again. The gap is closing, but not as much as thought or advertised. Korea and China are still a good bit ahead of Europe and America.

Not one international tournament that Doublelift has not choked in. You'd just be tricked into thinking he hasn't because he seems to think he's the best ADC to ever play the game. Bottom line was they couldn't get out of a group with two gauntlet teams and China's 2nd best team. There's no way to not classify this as a massive choke. Probably NA's biggest ever.



Also a General Disclaimer to anyone wondering: I am a TL fan. The definition of choke artists. I simply do not like TSM and never have. I watch for the entertainment aspect not to bandwagon a region. Though I do/have legitimately pulled for C9 and CLG. I don't see how one can root for CLG/TSM. That is like rooting for the Yankees/Sox..impossible.

I'd love someone to show me an international tournament that Dlift actually showed up in.

Well for groups I did not do very well. I did not have C9, RNG, H2k or Albus advancing lol. But that's why you play the games!

QF Predictions:
C9 upsets SSG 3-2
SKT 3-1 over RNG
Rox 3-1 over EDG
H2K 3-1 over Albus

SF Predictions:
SKT 3-2 over Rox
C9 3-2 over H2K

Final Prediction:
SKT 3-1 over C9


So I THINK this is how the bracket had it. Which is really strange. SKT and Rox not on opposite sides!? That's nuts.
