Lol in all seriousness jagex is probably going to make randoms come way more frequently like every 1-3 hours of gameplay to combat simba.

 

Jagex has actually impressed me with the measures they have taken to make sure bots are not a problem. Sorry to say it guys, seeing as this is a cheating community, but it's probably a good thing for the game's overall health.

 

I doubt there will be anything good for the overall health of the game. I am afraid that it is on the downswing of it's life. I mean the game is what, 10 years old now? We have to face it, Runescape won't last too much longer. I doubt they will be able to eradicate the bots. Whenever there is something to be cheated there will be someone there to figure out how to cheat it.

 

They'll never stop Simba, I remember a thread that mentioned Simba can run even on a black and white RS

 

You know one thing that no one has brought up on this thread is the introduction of OpenGl hooking. If OpenGl can be utilized with color/OCR techniques it will rival BCEL and Reflection methods. Color can be crippled by screwing with fonts "randomizing" random event colors and making slight adjustments to the position of 'uptext.'

OpenGl hooking will not have these same problems, and regardless of what Jacmod says botting will never truly be killed.

Jagex has screwed with fonts many times in the past. Making new ones, bringing back old ones, random spacing etc etc, this has never been a problem for SRL/SCAR and they are usually updated/fixed within a few days.

As for OGL, yeah no one is talking about it since there are none out yet, they are all just in development and beta stages so not much can be said about it. As far as I see Jagex can just remove the OpenGL option from the settings and be done with it ?

The reason they can't shut Simba down is the tolerance. For example, FindColorSpiralTolerance(x, y, xx, yy, 500000, 20) will find the color 500000 with the toleration of 20. This means that slight changes in the colirs don't matter.

 

Wont happen... it just can't happen.

 

Removing OpenGl would screw over linux users...since we would have to use java to render ingame graphics.

 

I disagree, Jagex are smarter then we think they will figure something out, i think the first bot nuke was a test and to see a survival of the fittest and now they are clearing out the rest of them.

 

Not sure how they would do this, however if it does work and color bots are taken down, it will be a big blow to the botting community.

 

So you are saying there is way to stop color bots without making the game unplayable by humans? Psh.

 

That would never happen, if it did everyone would stop playing the shit game, only reason people bot massively is RWT to make money.

 

Thinking about it now the only way to hinder color bots is by making places and mini games like soulwars have randoms. People will still be able to bot. But it would definitely slow down a farmer like my self.

 

For security reasons, I'll not bot anymore till 12-14th March. Just stopped my 4 bots. However, it is quite impossible to detect bots that detects color to train skills. Only way for jagex would be if they check, during gameplay, if the player has 'Simba, etc bots' opened.
