Need help with an Ebay scammer

Basically, i purchased a CD head unit for my bmw e46, it arrived i fitted it and it didn't work. i contacted the seller, he asked what was wrong with it. Then offered me the option to send it back and he'd send me another. I sent it back then he offered me the refund or a replace item. I chose the refund. Now he's claiming the item i returned isn't the item i sent. Just wondering what techniques i can use as i didn't take any photos of the item? if anyone can help it's much appreciated. £122 at stake here

 

Contact Ebay. They have a whole set of staff for issues like this. Do you have any chat logs? If so, you might be able to use them as proof. Trust me on this, Ebay takes this stuff seriously.

i disagree with the guy above. there is an msnlike chat ebay uses for these problems. you can also use the paypal protection

 

The only means of contact are through email. He has also taken pictures of the one he received and it is different to the one i sent, which was the one i sent him. The one displayed in his auction.

It's a bit of a difficult situation as i have no proof that i've sent the one he sent me. But nor does he have proof i never. But at the moment he has the goods and the money. whereas i'm sat with nothing.

 

You should always use recorded delivery especially on Ebay so you can qualify for protection. This is pretty sad but its the reality. You could attempt a law suit scare but that's all I can think of hope you get settled otherwise karma gonna get that scammers ass.

Recorded delivery was used. but he was claiming i sent him a faulty item back and it was different to the one he sent. I've been refunded the whole £132 (incl delivery) so i'm somewhat happy now

 

So what the hell was the guy doing? I just wanna know in case I decide to use ebay for in the future.

 

I'm experienced with ebay. If you used PayPal...then fuck the seller, file a dispute with PayPal and you will most likely win it. PayPal always sides with the buyer.
