Exactly. This was a stupid stunt. It wasn't needed. Mission not accomplished. There are better ways to find scammers.

N4n0, you have absolutely no idea how great it is to see this was all a fib.

Great way to weed out the fakes. My trust in you did not hinder once during this escapade!

The claim that what we did shows a "lack of maturity" is one of the most outlandish statements I've ever heard. If any of you were mature enough to understand what took place here, and what motivated it, you'd be on our side.

We just rid the site of 24 users who had the potential to scam, and most likely would have down the line.

In the past 72 hours, 96 people in total have been banned, including those 24... keeping in mind that not all bans are for scamming, it's fair to say that these 24 are a substantial amount for one sting.

Many of you have extremely VALID opposing views, but what it boils down to is that the staff wanted to trap the desperate scammers to help clean the community by a not so promising way.

I was just astonished to see that it was a hoax and glad to see that it wasn't a serious situation, but just remember " the boy who cried wolf "

Also glad that i provided my unrequested knowledge and assistance to n4n0, and same for future references i am always here to help :)

"I'm a neutral bystander to all of this. Do not judge me, I'm speaking for most people."

So much for that statement, how is anything you say credible.

What if this whole operation was actually true, and people did get scammed? The staff would blow it off as a way to catch scammers. Essentially, they would just ban whoever had evidence to cover up for themselves. If 10Bil was scammed, lets say thats $5k, split that between 5 staff members and they all made $1k each. I love our staff and don't see our staff ever doing this. If it did happen, how would we ever know?

So your saying if you were scammed say 1BIL and got banned BUT had evidence you wouldn't go out of your way to post it? Your logic is flawed.

I think what Viou is saying is that say mod A decided to talk with admin A and plan this in the future. Than during the actual operation mod A ACTUALLY SCAMMED, and they claimed it was a hoax at the end.... or something along those lines

I think the intentions were good. TTB was weeded out. As Viou said, almost everyone has their limit in regards to whether or not they will scam, I'm sure this was successful because TTB would have had the chance to scam in a future.

If this is to ever be done in the future, i would suggest actually banning N4n0 so it actually looks authentic. When I was viewing the original thread, all of it did not add up. There is absolutely no way n4n0 was stupid enough to fall for a keylogger or have his password brute forced.

Eh, im not the most clear writer out there.
I'm saying what if you did have evidence, but were banned before any action could be done. Like if this event was actually true, and they banned all of them. How would we know whats going on? We wouldn't know or anything. And would continue to use sythe with corrupt staff.

No need, staff isn't even looking at what we write.

I know it was offending but many users, especially me, don't get the whole objective of this ''Operation''.
''Scamming'' in a trap doesn't proof that the user would scam in a real situation.
I know that it was a nice ''effort'' from the Staff but it could have been invested in something way better than banning POTENTIAL scammers.

Time to Buy: Many users would have trust this guy with a lot of wealth and he still got caught. Why?
Because he wanted to make money and it's freaking normal like reaction.

Stealing from someone after they've been hacked and are in need is not a normal reaction from most people.

As I've stated before, there were more people who offered to help n4n0 than people who tried to steal from him.

You say they might not scam in a real situation, but you fail to see that this was a real situation. They didn't know it was fake until after they had been caught. This is how they would act in a real situation because to everyone except n4n0 and govind it WAS real. If they were presented with the same situation except "real" they would have done the same thing.

You do know just cause you are banned, you can post in such places such as the dispute forum or use a proxy and create a new account and post the evidence, this would be extremely hard to pull off unless you could actually destroy the evidence.

From the users I've known on Sythe, a lot of people wait to get an opportunity.
I've caught 5 scammers and one wasn't banned because I only had the chat logs (history), and he scammed for 1.5B before getting actually caught.

What did the scammers do? Pretend.

That's where we are at and what Viou is trying to say.

Whatever. I've got my opinion and I've got facts to defend it.
No point and no time to argue over the Internet.
