I'm just guessing this would be the greatest part of the forum to ask for PC help other then the Tech help center...
Well heres my problem.
I just set up my new system, and a pretty nice one that is. I hooked up the internet on it and its incredibly slow. I'm running Windows XP, And my Network Card is a Linksys LNE100Tx Version 2.0 Fast Ethernet PC ( 100 MBPS )
When I hooked it up the internet was and IS incredibly slow. The PC I was running just an hour ago with this very same LAN Cable ( Home network ) Had an incredibly fast internet connection
So what the hell? Can anyone shine some light on my situation?
Okay your sharing your current connection, If its dsl broadband then its gonna go medium speeds, If you have cable or something then you shouldnt notice a diff. Also make sure no one is mooching off your internet from the wireless area.
Sometimes when one or more internet device is on it can slow down another device drastically. Hmm you can always just get a neighbors connection or something.

Try connecting the filters usualy, when a parent awnsers the phone or something that causes to use the phoneline causes it to disconnect or to change the speed drastically.
whats ur internet speed? you gave us ur network card max speed (100mbit) but i seriously doubt ur running a residential line on it. what speed are you paying for and test here what you are actually getting: www.speedtest.net
Our ISP changed us from a 512/k DSL plan to a 1.5/M DSL plan, GG
Well, anyway, there is obviously something conflicting with the connection. My downloads only slow down drastically when we run out of bandwidth. Ask your dad if his downloads have exceeded the allowed bandwidth cap, because my ISP shapes your speed to dialup for the rest of the month when you do.
Sometimes my dad complains about slow browsing, but my net was going fast as our plan would let it, split into 6 computers, and I was going a decent 180 kb/s down, so sometimes I guess you just have to wait and see what happens.
Maybe your computer is just slow. Have you tryed running programs not related with internet. If these are slow then it might mean there is something wrong with your computer
