    Need help with internet connection/ router

    I need help with my internet because i can can get on the internet sometimes (like now) but other times it says its connected but the internet doesn't work. Please help this is really anoying sometimes it'll be off for hours at a time.

    Edit: btw its comcast internet and a linksys router

    most likely ur isp (comcast) that keeps dropping you from the internet. You could also make sure you close enough to router that you have a strong connection with it.

    It is possible that you have damaged the reciever on your computer.I spilt a drink on mine once and it has done that a few times but if you havent then try the below option.

    If not you can pretty much always resolve it by switching of the router for 30 seconds or so and then back on.

    Linksys routers are infamous for their overheating issues. Sounds like a similar issue to what I used to get with my Linksys WRT54GS. Get a Netgear or D-link router.

    Wireless or wire? Try getting the IP of google or something, and next time you can not get online put the IP in FF or IE, and if it loads you have a DNS problem, and if it does not I would guess it is with your router.

    Try a reset of the router and the modem.

    If you think that it is a DNS problem (see above) post and I can write out something that may help with that.
