My "Display Driver" Keeps Crashing.

Whenever I load something like WoW, GW, or sometimes even the login page of RS on high detail, I occasionally get crashed. The screen freezes, then turns black, then recovers and I get the popup saying "Display Driver blah blah blah has recovered."

Sometimes it completely freezes and I'm forced to manually restart my computer.

Anyone know what it is / how I can fix it?

I'm on an HP laptop with Vista. [I blame Vista for everything D:]

I get that sometimes. I would try running windows update and or downloading the latest display driver... Or if it started recently, do a system restore and disable updates...

 

I had that happen for a few days untill I did a system restore and that solved the problem as SuF said.

 

It's happened before but it's never been as bad as it is now. I did recently install WoW and it's been freezing like mad whenever I open it.

I did the display driver from NVIDIA but it didn't do anything.

System restore = delete everything right? >.<

 

System Restore takes you to a previous point in your computer, like you could restore to 3 days ago, 7 days ago, etc.

Formatting is deleting everything. Just thought I'd explain that.

As for your problem; have you tried downloading new drivers like SuF said?

 

As I said earlier I downloaded one from the official NVIDIA site [The makers of the graphics card in my computer] and it didn't do anything.

Maybe you should update it

the problem could be your graphics card. most laptop computers dont have very good graphic cards and often integrated meaning they dont have their own separate ram so they run off the computers ram which is shared. So your playing wow and trying to run the display driver and when there is a lot of stuff happening on the screen you probably see that message because your computer is running out of ram and dumps your display driver ram first before crashing the computer.


If could also be a issue with the driver. so make sure you have the latest update like everyone else said.
