MM's Not allowed to Vouch Traders

If you are buying or trading an account you are still trusting the other person, as even if a middleman is used there is still the possibility of getting scammed. Thus I think that the TRADERS should still be able to vouch. However, I do not think middlemen should vouch for traders unless there is a legitimate reason. I also don't think we really need a rule for this, though maybe one requiring middlemen who vouch to say they are a middleman in the vouch itself.

Even if a person claims to have 100,000 vouches it is the traders responsibility to check the validity of the vouches towards the trade.

People gets tons of vouches for services such as botting and sig's however that wouldn't be relevant to gold sales or account trades, or vice versa.

Ultimately, the MM has to vouch to show that the user accepts using an MM and that the trade went through successfully - as they too were part of the trade.

Botting vouches are relevant if you go first or leave equipment on the account.

I only vouch if they want one but I'm not going to deny them one as most people keep as a trading record like mentioned.

I don't "Vouch" anyone I MM for. I'll leave a note like "MM'd a trade for ---, all went well" though.

Most of the newer MM's usually do though. Hell, when I started MMing I would. It just shouldn't be allowed at all because it really does inflate your vouches.

And yes I do believe you should check quality over quantity, but new users don't do this. They go "Oh he has 10 vouches, I have 4, I'll go first" and this is when scams occur.

Exactly my point. It is up to the person trading whether they find the trade relevant. If you have don't have MM vouches people could just leave it at "vouch for xxx trusted player" mean while they used an MM. The more info a person has to judge a person before the trade the better.

This is left to the ignorance of the newcomer - this community is founded around the players that have been in the community for a while. If they get scammed then let that be a lesson to them that this IS a cheating community so its inevitable that scams are going to occur.

Yeah, but you know what isn't left to the ignorance of the newcomer? The ability to scam.

Billy comes to Sythe to buy 100m. He gets ripped of by Bob because Bob had inflated vouches and pressured Billy into going first because he was "trusted". Billy loses $100, Bob runs off with his money and gets off scott free, besides a measly ban from Sythe.

Billy is now pissed, he doesn't realize that there is a solid community on Sythe, he just knows he can get his gold / money back just like Bob did to him. Billy either can inflate his vouches by buying 5m, or small trades like that and pressure a new user into buying from him like he did, or just claim back his money.

This is really what this is trying to solve. It seems like a very simple fix to some of these problems. It's not going to fix scamming or much in general, but if a few people are helped by this suggestion / rule then it is worth it to be honest.

I think it's good for MMs to leave a note saying that the people were actually legitimately buying/selling since that is important to know if a person is actually conducting business.

This proposition is no good, basically you are asking to get a trade from the guy you are buying from rather then an OMM/MM. A vouch is somthing saying you are trust worthy, if both the MM and the person buying/selling from/to you thinks you are legit enough to receive a vouch why shouldnt you gain a vouch from both partys who have SEEN and now KNOW that you are a legit buyer. The downfall of not receiving a vouch from the MM is what if the buyer/seller scams you and vouches you? Basically your vouch is null and void, its useless now cause the person giving it isnt legit thus making it seem like the trade itself wasnt legit thus making it seem like you werent legit. OMM/MM vouches should remain, it would be complete non sense to not keep them

But on the other hand the MM or OMM who worked with you, there vouch is legit and shall remain legit for a long time to come!

I don't vouch after OMM's, most of the OMM's don't vouch either.

The only problem is vouches aren't regulated and technically don't mean anything. As such, vouches can be given as is.

Middleman may not vouch, but middle man should be vouched by the traders.

Quality over quantity. Problem solved.
