I believe BJ is just as good as Shields with submissions, if not better. He has a standup game though so he doesnt need to rely just on those.
Shields hasnt subbed any tough guys, Couldnt sub hendo, couldnt sub Kampmann. His biggest subs are over Lawler, and Daley. Thats nothing special.
Standup: GSP
Groundgame: GSP
I think GSP just has better ground control, better takedowns and standup.
He will decide where the fight takes place and this will be his first finish in a whille.

 

Only chance shields has imo is if he gets gsp to the ground because we all know shields has no standup game at all and even if the fight goes to the ground gsp still has a good chance of out wrestling him.

 

When it gets to the ground, it all turns into grappling. I think it will be extremely interesting to see how well GSP can grapple with Shields. I mean if GSP could out-grapple shields...DAMN i wouldnt know what GSP is, he cretainly wont be human.

 

GSP takedown defense > Shields takedown offense

GSP will be fine grappling with him. He wont probably even test his ground game, because he wont have too. I see him hurting Shields, and unlike hendo, him finishing him.

 

I am not into it but my dad and brother love it. My dad actually teaches a class for MMA. He has been practicing for years and has been in the Marines and the Police force. He is pretty damn scary lol.

 

yeah shields is a one dimensional fighter and i really don't see how he got the title shot especially after the kamp fight.

that being said next ufc is gonna be beast! jones/bader, rich/forrest, silva/vitor

 

i love MMA. it is a great sport. gsp is my favorite fighter. hes a boss.

 

You really cant count out Shields, hes handled tough fighters and strikers before. However Shield's take down offense looked a bit shabby during the Kampmann fight and also he was unable to take Yushin Okami down.
So yeah Shied's takedown Offense may be questionable. however his guard passing is extremely good not to mention his sweeps on Kampmann( Kampmann inst bad on the ground either, dominated Paulo Thiago easily on the ground).

Only thing i wont expect GSP to do is submit Shields, as Shield's submission defense is top-notched. Knocking Shields out may not be as easily said as you guys think, as he showed he can take punishment, Hendo's punch is not soft. A TKO possibly, but not a clean knock-out.

Next i want Bader to win, Rich to win and Silva to win. As im placing bets on those . Its not the next event tho, next one is UFC fight for the Troops 2

 

Kampann isnt GSP though. I mean he will tko him. GSP could submit him though, because in MMA anything can happen. GSP ground control is also very good, so I dont think shields will be able to have his way with him on the ground. Shields could sub him, but the top level guys he has faced, (Okami, Condit, Kampann, Hendo) he couldnt finish.
I want Jones, Forrest, and Silva to win.

The bolded fighters are the fighters i want to win. The fights where niether are bolded are the fights i dont care who wins.

And I hope Dunham gets his foot back on solid ground again, he got fucking robb'd during the Sean Sherk fight. And Chan Sung Jung, reallyy has to get a win. Hes the one fighter whose lost twice in the WEC (i believe he won the first fight tho) during the debuts who Dana let stay.

 

I do not believe the korean zombie has won a fight in the wec. His last fight he got ko'ed brutally.
I like Guillard a lot, and I hope he wins, but Dunham is just way more well rounded. Guillard could finish it with one punch, but dunham can get it to the ground probably and sub him.

 

The Korean Zombie's fight with Gay Garcia he pretty much at least won. Instead he lost to a split decision. Watch teh fight, the worst it could be woulda been a draw.

Next, Dunhams got KO power too.

Top 3 in the LW division power wise are Gomi, Stephens, and Guillard.
Garcia somehow gets bs split decision wins.

And hey, there is/was a strikeforce card on tonight with two of the best prospects outside the ufc imo, with Tyrone Woodley and Daniel Cormier.

 

Actually Plznate is a huge fan and practices MMA himself, and there's the occasional post hunters posting once and never again.

But i think people will come in eventually. Its not as big as basketball/baseball/football. Thats all. And I rejoice when Garcia loses tbh lol.
I miss Penn in LW, i hate it when Penn quits everytime he loses and hops divisions -.-. Hopefully he'll do well fighting Fitch.

 

I think that is a bad style matchup for him, but I dont like either of them that much.
Fitch has excellent ground control, and a good chin, so bj has to get him down and finish him.
I hope garcia gets ktfo his next fight.

 

He'll probably get KO'd but the Judge wont end the fight, and then he recovers and gos on to win another split decision. I think BJ can catch Fitch, i mean hes one of those hard hitters and i just think BJ needs to start using his jiu jutsu again. The winner has a high chance of a title shot.

 

He can catch him, but I personally dont want to see GSP Fitch 2/Penn 3.
I would rather have GSP move up and fight.
