Its equal against equal tbh. those two are two of the most well-matched fighters. Forest just has more nasty leg kicks while Franklin is more well rounded. I cant predict a winner there.

 

I personally think Rich is going to win, because he has a very good standup game, a good chin (except against Anderson) and an underated ground game.
Forrest has good kicks, and good ground game, and is a scrapper. Forrest is my favorite fighter, and I hope he wins, but I think he is the underdog in this fight.

 

they both got raped by Anderson Silva(showing how beastly Silva's standup is) However im rooting for Rich, mainly because i simply dont think Forrect could become Champ again. While Rich has a better chance.

 

I dont think Rich has a chance at 205 for the belt imo. I dont think Forrest will either, but I still can hope . I think Bones, Rampage, Shogun, Machida, Bader, and Rashad would beat Rich. He still is a great fighter though, and everyone gets raped by Anderson Silva when he isnt dancing and doesnt have fucked up ribs. (See Chris Leben)

 

I actually loved the Leites and Maia fights. It shows just how good of a standup artist he is, and how desperate the Jiujutsu fighters need to take him to the ground. Leites did it once and was not able to capitalize on it. maia hopefully wont get a shot ever again, not until he can show that he could actually finish fights vs guys with actual jiujutsu defence.
You cant underestimate Rich tho, anything goes in a fight.

The Leben fight was a fight Leben has nightmares about. He got finished in 45 seconds like one of Silva's punching bags.

 

And Leben has one of the best chins in MMA. It shows how dangerous he can be. I didnt like teh Maia fight because he just danced, the Leites fight, Leites just kept trying to get him down.

Who do you think has the advantage during Silva Vs Belfort?, I think Belfort has ring rust, but Silva seems to be getting older each year

Silva is the BEST counter striker out there. Leben come charging at him, and he put him out that quick.
Vitor has ko power, and can end it with One strike, but I think Anderson Silva is a better striker, and will take this in two rounds.
Chuck Liddell officially retired today as well.
I will be out of town so I probably will miss it this weekend.

I just hope Anderson doesnt go stupid and try eating the shots like he did at Sonnen. Sonnen had no KO power so i guess it was ok then. Cant get too cocky vs those fast hands + KO power.

Im also seriously wondering who would win the JDS and Cain Velasquez fight.

 

Yea, my aunt buys the pay per views sometimes, so she might buy it, and if she does im going there (Side note I was at her house when I saw my first UFC fight, Chuck vs Tito)
Anderson has a great chin, and I dont see him getting koed by Vitor, but one punch can change everything.
If he does get cocky it could happen (see Joe Soto vs Joe Warren)

 

Apparently, Overeem knocked out todd duffee in like 15 seconds in there fight.

 

Ubereem, just did to Todd Duffee what Todd Duffeee did to Tim Hague except around 12 seconds longer. And he won the k-1 2010. Man Ubereems a beast.
I really think Sakuraba has to retired. Hes getting old and inst as active as himself 5 years ago. Nearing 40 and is just hurting himself.

I really believe Gegard should join the UFC and start being a contender for the ufc light-heavy title. Hes got talent and only lost to Mo only cause Mo sat on him for 25 minutes. Did you see the fight? Mo's face looked more fucked up than Gegards even after sitting on him. And damn, Gegard is showing he can kickbox too. Just took out Kyotaro who is a k-1 legend.

 

Nope, i missed that fight. It was on strikeforce: Nashville I think, I only saw the fight with hendo-shields and the brawl afterwards. I missed UFC 125, but Apparantly Maynard destroyed Edgar in round one, and he came back to earn a split draw, not a wi; but not a loss. Leben also got beat within one round. Pretty good card I missed.

 

The card was disappointing in my eyes. I mean most of the fighters i wanted to win lost. Gomi guillotined? Dammit.

And Veras on a 3 fight lose streak now.

 

Same here. I wanted Vera to win, I wanted at least Gomi to fight better. Im happy Tavares KO'ed Baroni, as I like a lot of those tuf 11 guys.

 

Well UFc fight for the troops looks like a boring event. No good names out there tbh, hopefully they'll fix that. Then its another whole month ebfore another BIG event comes.

The Edgar Frankie fight was so stupid i didn't know how to grit my teeth. I mean i loved seeing jiu jutsu and stuff. But i hate just seeing takedowns, missing shots. And all that. I expected it to be better.

 

I think it isnt a bad event, plus it is free. The main event should be pretty one sided, because Dunham is a lot more well rounded. But guillard has one shot ko power so never count him out.

 

They both have have one punch knock-out power, it just doesnt have any of the fighters i usually have on my "bet list".
Whats your thoughts on Jake Shields getting a title shot after his performance vs Martin Kampmann?, i think its fine with him getting a shot just for his win steak. The guys hes been fighitng for that win streak are top-notch fighters. I dont understand why people are looking at his onyl UFC fight and judging on that.

It'll be a great fight mainly ebcause GSP and Shields are both guys who love taking it to the ground. Jake has the advantage in submissions but Georges own Jiu Jutsu is also solid. You dont have to be a BJJ black belt to be good at submission E.G. Matt Huges.

 

I think GSP will destroy Shields. Shields has good submissions, but there nothing special. GSP will pick him apart on the feet, and he will decide where the fight takes place.

 

GSP hanst fought a top-level Jiu Jutsu Guy yet. Shields inst just god submissions, hes excellent. Hes one of the few guys who still try to take people down for a grappling ocntest.. B.J. rarely goes for submissions, instead hes mainly a standup guy.

On the feet however i agree if Shields does not take GSP down, he'll get destroyed. Hes mediocre on his standup. Now a month till ufc 126grrrrrrrrr
