It is not wrong because they, it is wrong because they're related to us, which to me, is nothing more than sharing a common trait and seeing them at family get-togethers.

Well, you could argue that allowing people with sub-par eyesight equal chances as the rest of us is counterproductive to natural selection and that glasses should be banned, but that would be to take it too far in my opinion. Don't you agree?

It's not only church, pretty much anyone could think incest is wrong. Because in their minds, family is not suppose to have relations with each other.

If they are 1st cousins, If i'm correct, there children can have problems. Edgar Allen Poes story the Falling House of Usher is a good example.

you already said that charles darwin said why marry a stranger. yeah he married his kids, then they all got sick. marrying people you are related to kinda messes up the kids immune system i thought.. could be wrong. however everyone is related somehow, so in the begininning and awhile ago it was tottaly fine to marry in the family (also to keep the money in the family) but however if the church says its unnatural that brings up an interesting point. if it is legalized then another so called unatural thing should be legalized..

Incest is the only true universal taboo. Some professors point to cannibalism as another, but some societies consume wise men in hopes of gaining their insights or hunters in hopes of better athleticism.

Universal you say? But havent many ancient cultures seen it fit to marry a sibling/relative? Going back to the Greek God's, who were all one large family with brothers sleeping with their sisters not bring an example of incest as a normal thing?

I guess the fact the possibility of inferior off spring does arise from the situation of incestuous relations

Incest is represented in plenty of religions. Adam's children must have married, but you don't see many Christians waving the banner of incest.

Humans are predisposed to frown upon incest. From an evolutionary standpoint, we probably shrink away from incest because the offspring of those who didn't find it offensive died off and the offspring of those who found it abhorrent thrived.

So in the end cultural norms picked sides and deemed incest socially unacceptable.

In all reality I can see why.
