Mark Gerhard Admits EoC was a Mistake

Hey, so there is this petition being held to add Pre-EoC Game Servers back into Runescape. I thought I'd share this with you guys as there are a few more signings needed and if you want this to happen, then sign it. You can find the link and more info in the videos below. So he admits that the EoC is a mistake, I still somewhat doubt they're gonna do anything. Go look at the news feed history, 3 out of the 5 posts are Solomon/SoF related when they just said they'd cut back on them.

 

I think if a new server is made it won't have those but the current server will so they will keep on advertising them. The new server maybe has them as well just not the new combat system.

 

I do hope they listen and get developing a new server, they haven't got anything too loose ! I know a whole load of people who would pay a whole load of membership just to play pre Eoc .. let's face it, it was much better.

The petition will easily reach 25k, they should of aimed for a higher number at least double that. Not sure it will get Jagex's attention.

Time will tell !

 

They decided to get 25k votes because they estimated that there are 25k active players and the rest are all bots or people with multiple accounts.

The guy in the video sounds like a door to door chinese salesman / jehovah's witness / sect preacher. Sounds so rehearsed buddy, like the pauses where he stops unnaturally to swallow his own saliva, as if trying to make his point sound so much more important.

Obviously RS2006 was shut down not just because it was a threat to jagex, but an infringement on their intellectual property and rights. It is illegal to take someone's millions of lines of code and edit them without that person's permission for personal gain.

Obviously if RS2006 says 360K people signed up, or 500K+ signed up, it doesn't literally mean that. RS2006 creator/forum organizers can do a biased counting of the crowd themselves, say, start the counter at 300K and then have it pop up to 360K.

Obviously the poll that the vid said was biased about the EOC, wasn't actually biased and looked about right. If jagex were biasing the EOC poll then they sure damn did a poor job at it, because they biased the wrong option. One that potentially hurt the progress of EOC in the polls.

Obviously it wasnt 400 players that completed the aforementioned survey, but anyone who went and did the combat academy when it was released for p2p and f2p players alike, and when it was up for nearly a month.

If you don't like the game anymore, maybe you are just too old for it. You outgrew it and now it is time to do something new. Go outside for a change, try a new game. Maybe see whats out there for you. Not whine and create these videos to counterintuitively undermine the game you have so long loved, for other players.

 

I highly doubt anything will happen. It's a first admitting they were wrong, but going back to what Runescape was and deleting one of their ever biggest content updates doesn't seem feasible. At most, I can see small updates happening to combat the dislike of the EoC.

Pretty well put, they put so much work into this I don't think they'd just scrap it.

 

You never know now a days. They seem a lot more open appeasing current players. Back in like 06 / 07 all the cared about was appeasing new players. I doubt they are getting too many new players so keeping old ones might be an important thing for them.

 

Already signed and would love to see the old 2009 RS.

They clearly were picking and choosing the opinions they heard regarding the update.

 

Well at least he admits it, but I honestly don't see them making any big changes to it, they will probably do small little updates but nothing huge

 

Jagex will want atleast 100k people, as there are easy 200k active players, as remember multiple people log out/in every minute, and there's always a load online, not too many bots anymore either since the botwatch update.

 

I'd be amazed if they'd change anything.. We all know how they are.
EoC won't be removed, it was a huge update and costed them LOADS of money

Heck, I'd be amazed if they'd even set up a second server with pre-EoC.
But we'll see, I hope they'll listen to the people for once
