there's so many questions that I can imagine you're all keen to know the answer to. In this thread I'm going to clarify the current points made by Mark Gehrard himself.

If you have any questions you want to know the answers to then please feel free to post them.

I will not appreciate people posting pointless rubbish about why they should/shouldn't do the update.

Q. In going on with the update, how will you cope with botters and gold farmers?

A. We have several new initiatives to deal with those issues and believe we can control it. We have not given up the fight - far from it. We are doing the update now because we believe we can control what we couldn't in the past.


Q. Will there be staking?

A. Yes staking will be brought back.


Q. Will there be wilderness only worlds?

A. There will be no wildy free worlds.


Q. What about clue scrolls in the wilderness? How will people cope?

A. Things like clue scrolls may be altered to accomidate the risk, I'm not to sure yet.


Q. What will happen to revenants?

A. Revenants were there to replace the danger of pkers. Since there will be no need for them, they will be removed.


Q. What would happen to bounty hunter and pvp worlds?

A. They would go for now.


Q. What about the grand exchange mixed with a free economy?

A. Honestly I have no idea :l


Q. Is the post from mod osbourne true?

A. No it is a fake and mod osbourne is very upset about it


Q. What will happen to items like PVP items?

A. They will remain in the game.


Q. Tell us the aim of your voting system? How will it work if the same people can vote over and over again?

A. I'm not interested in the people who vote, I am interested in the numbers.


Q. Will the graphics be rolled back?

A. No I do not plan to role back the graphics.


Q. What about the newer items like extreme pots and dungeoneeing items?

A. These things will be considered very carefully.

Q. What will happen to things like gravestones?

A. At this moment in time I'm not sure however I would like gravestones to stay in game, obviosly not in the wilderness though.


Q. What will happen to the EP system?

A. The EP system will be removed.


Q. Will there be summoning in the new wild?

A. Summoning, I'm not to sure yet.


Q. What will happen with untradables?

A. Right now our system with untradables isn't very good, so we may come up with a better one.


Q. What about lootshare in the wilderness?

A. Lootshare in the wilderness? That's something I haven't considered, but I don't see how it would work in conjunction. I'll have to think about that one.

Q. Will the wild be exactly like it used to be?

A. We will try to make the wilderness just like it was in 2006.


Q. What about Quests and minigames in the wilderness?

A. I can say with confidence that these will be relocated out of the wilderness.


Q. Will luring in the wilderness be allowed?

A. I don't like people bennefiting from an NPC kill or luring.


Q. Is this just a hoax for the guiness world records?

A. No it isn't. The webpage you vote on originally had a refference to the records Jagex holds. The statement at the bottom of the page explained the refference, however when we removed that, the refference made no sense (hence the ****iricy theory).

Since people are asking if these questions are the legitimate truth or not then:

These Q/A's are all built up fom what Mark was being asked and then answering in his clanchat earlier. He asked if people could spread this arround to stop him constantly answering question, and since he also said he will not be doing his own FAQ as of this time, I thought it would be useful to help out those of you who are curious.

If a moderator or jagex mod such as Mark himself could verify this then I'd be greatful.

Also, I don't think clue scrolls should be a problem. I mean, before we'd deal with going into the wild with a clue.

Interesting read.

Looks like they got a lot of work to do before releasing it again. I doubt it will be released till around Feb earliest.

no, theyve been planning it since, i think they are opening it on new years day, many rumours going around saying that, theyve already been coding it, they are just making poll now, the vote wasnt real its just for guiness world record, 1.2m votes in 24 hours, also everyone who visits that vote site, jagex gets 25c, so its a win/win for both of us

 

Very interesting, the thing i find most intriguing is how they will incorporate the GE with a free economy. Staking FTW though.
