WHY, WHY are you guys talking about tobacco vs weed?
For one, unless you are a chronic smoker(Pun not intended) of straight marijuana you will most likely not become addicted.
Note I said STRAIGHT SMOKER. most people mix marijuana with tobacco to reduce the harshness, and this is what causes addiction.
I completely agree with your stance on alcohol being more harmful than weed, but I just can't see it being outlawed.
PS. verryberry you could argue that same point about basically anything.
Somebody that cuts to reduce stress frequently will get to the point where they can't function without it, so will a heavy drinker.
EDIT: I like weed as much as the next person, but frankly the arguments some people put forward embarass those with good points.
There are MANY better painkillers than weed, which is why it isn't legal.
The worst excuse for weed that you hear often is the "it's natural" argument.
Yes, it is natural but this doesn't stop it from being harmful, a thistle is natural too, but I wouldn't be eating one of them anytime soon.
The only problem I can see with mariuana becoming lawful is that younger people will be exposed to it.
Take alcohol's legality for example: Older brothers/sisters buy it for their siblings who are too young to legally drink. How many people do you know that can truthfully say they didn't drink until they were 18?(Apart from your parents

)
If marijuana was to become legalised the same thing would happen.
Younger kids with less judgement would be exposed, putting them at greater risk of more harmful and addictive drugs.
My friend started smoking when he was 10, did weed at 11-12, LCD when he was 14 and is now addicted to cocaine and ice.
Think how many more children this would happen to if marijuana was legal.
If marijuana was to become legalised the same thing would happen.
