    Yes, as Macroman said, it is French.

    De is the word meaning "of, from, about"

    It can be used in forms of "De La, Du, or Des"

    "De Le" forms the word "Du", and "Des" is the plural form of "De La" and "Du"

    So Macroman's name simply would mean "Werner -of- Wilzem"
