what did that cost? 700$?
im packin 3.2 dual core with 512mb video, 4gb ocz ram, and a 500gb 3g/s harddrive with a total cost under 550$.
macs suck. os x does not suck.
triple boot, linux, mac, xp, -- made partitions, best of ALL worlds.

Ummm no, 2.0 Core 2 Duo... The 1.6 core 2 duo (MacBook Air) is $1800.
But mine was about $1200 with 4gb RAM (and as stated before a 2.0 core 2 duo processor). However, I'm guessing that yours is a desktop -___-. And I don't think you can get a 3.2 Ghz with 512MB or VRAM for under $550 especially if you include the monitor. If you can show me the link to the parts I'll probably buy one right away. However, installing OS X on a PC isn't the best way to go, because an update may or may not end up screwing your entire computer (not to mention against the law). Furthermore, there is a lack of driver support from some devices, and if it messes up, you can't take it to the Apple store for repair.

Stop stereotyping people based on what OS they use -- I use Zenwalk Linux, a derivative of Slackware, because my Windows install gradually killed itself over the years (Spyware and malware abound). If I'd not been stupid, or let the family run the computer as administrators (Which, if you're doing, you have no right to make comments about computing, at all), I'd probably still be using Windows.

NTFS is garbage. Windows Vista uses far too much processing power for the jobs it does. Linux's driver situation is shit. Linux is not easy to configure, unless you use an idiot-proof distro. The Macbook Air is a joke. Macs are generally more expensive.

theres 3 partitions dude. (makes HD into 3 parts. views each as an individ hd) worst case scenario, i lose 75gb of my hd.. out of 500gb..
big dealio. and my drivers are compatible with leopard so it doesnt matter.. and the i put this together with time,
rebates made it about half price and im about to upgrade so a 768mb vid card anyway... cost still under yours.

but still, even at full without rebates, it beats the hell outta your macbook.
im not saying os X sucks, because it doesnt. its just MACS suck. seriously.

 

I know there are three partitions... I don't live under a rock (lol, well at least in terms of the tech world), and I have been involved in the hackintosh community for a while. Although you may think that all your drivers are fully compatible, they may end up not being used as efficiently as they potentially could. And a worst case scenario is: you have a harddrive failure. You can have as many partitions as you want, but if they're on the same hard drive... you still lose it all.

anyway mac is limited to games and windows aint. windows is the most used and mac aint. windows has WAY more stuff to do macs dont. The only thing i see that macs have over windows is that there a fucking monitor so its smaller. Windows rapes macs cuz windows pwns.
also i have NEVER on a windows (mine, my dads, or my moms) have had it freeze or get a blue screen.

2. you CAN install windows on it with parralles desktop and run it in a window and even make it full screen.
